this is weird… like sacchi weird, give the circumstances of their relationship … I understand raya is the end game…
What is this scene even trying to say?
even if intoxicated by alcohol, why would they go in the direction of kuchi kuchi ku? It just says they are attracted to eo. Bus. How does it establish ki wo Dono ek dusre ko balh? 🧐
This could happen with anyone, in that sense nahi?….
Take priya out, keep someone else, Ram would have been compromised...
Take ram out, keep someone else, Pri would have been compromised…
but it Is suddenly acceptable coz it is raya here? Coz they are the endgame? Why? 😒
The entire moment is coz of intoxication…. Not intention is what I am seeing and interpreting.
Let me know your takes.
P.S. this is opinion only…I didn’t complete the series yet, if I overlooked/not looked anything let me know.
Exactly my point. Even leaving alcohol or "chemical pills" out of it, because that's just to justify themselves against puritanical backlash, this is meant to show love? Love takes time and needs to overcome what follows the "in love" state. Even to presume "in love" here is a stretch.
How much do Ram and Priya know each other? They've lived together a week? Met occasionally before that? While a secret can bind people, like the contract issue, while one might get a fair idea of someone if one has good instincts, while there are people one just likes from the get go, if you put aside itv conditioning, what can you see in balh3?
As I see it, Ram had an image of the type he thought would suit him, and that manifested as Kriti. It also fits in with Ram's self image. What's been the feeling all along? That it's a manufactured love story (actually not a love story at all), as I've said before, like kids with FOMO convince themselves of. Then along comes this girl who's apparently not his type, and he finds her attractive. Way back when Banyantree was furious at how he behaved when he met Priya for the first time, I'd felt he was a bit startled by her and acted like a kid pulling a girl's pigtails because he "likes" her. In subsequent meetings, his interactions with her are more real than with his gf, because no cosmetics or self delusions are involved. Or maybe a little self delusion --that he could never have any feelings for someone like her.
They are comfortable with each other, treat each other like they've known each other a long time, like in the hotel scenes. He's had moments of being very nice towards her (tissues and dhabba) and also not (but that's actually realistic). She's more stable in her behaviour towards him, and is an obviously nice person. That's the basis. I'm not going to bother with all that overdone rubbish serials do about the fl being Mother Teresa, super efficient, seva ki devi, etc. I just hate the sh*t serials impose on leads.
Attraction is a very strong force. It's not necessarily sleazy, even if you aren't exactly free. (I think Dazzle put it well when she said yes, cheating happens, but the problem is serials glorify or normalise it.) Btw, this isn't an extramarital affair, it's an intramarital affair! Kudos to BT for at least something new.🙄
Now see every scene where Ram and Priya are dumbstruck by the physical proximity. That's attraction, not love. The scenes are very aesthetic, sensual, but ishqwala background music doesn't mean love.
This could have been developed differently, to make a convincing love story, and we have writers here who are shaping it that way. However, as the show stands, nah. Not a love story unless you're blinkered.
What I'd like is for this story to end as it inevitably will, with Ram and Priya acknowledging love (bear with me -- I'm not being contradictory; not done yet), going into their sunset.
Next I'd like a really mature story which starts with them separated, because the first flush didn't last, because once "in love" love is past, there's a hell lot that can drive you nuts about your partner. And then the coming together again, which would be the real thing. Not a shallow BT serial, but a well-thought-out narrative on how love isn't always showy, dramatic, or serialish, but much deeper. Hell, I wouldn't even mind new people in their lives, but I don't think many here would want such a show, because a large section of our audience has been conditioned on the thrill of first and only loves, the prolonged anticipation (slow burn), the pristine state of the leads' bodies and souls. And here, we're talking of seeing NM-DP continuing the narrative hereon.
It's a crime to waste actors like these two.
Sorry, zara zyada lamba ho gaya. And I apologise if this is offensive to anyone who prefers to see it as a love story. Maybe it is--we know it's meant to be--and I'm needlessly raining on your parade.
