I am not saying people should follow my mother's example. It is an example where things were handled differently than the earlier example. It's to show contrast. Parents shouldn't control their child's relationships to this level where they tell them someone else is their dad and keep them away from having any connection to their extended families.

I would like to add that if we speak only from the characters’ viewpoint and not our personal opinions - has Akshara ever treated Abhimanyu as her “abuser”? She is comfortable in taking help from him on multiple occasions. She even supported her younger sister’s(whom she loves enough to think of returning to Udaipur after 6 years!) alliance with him.

Yes, she was afraid of the truth getting out and Abhir being taken away by Birlas! But even during the temple scene where she rejects him - she concludes by saying that she hopes it helps him move on! Akshara was heartbroken and disappointed with Abhimanyu but if she really believed him to be a villain or bad guy she would have made sure he has no relations with Goenkas or Arohi - thats how any person would deal with an “abuser”!!

PS I am not saying Abhimanyu’s behavior was justified on WD.

No moral code in the world can force a person to let her abusers have any literal or figurative access into her life in any form.

What abhi did on WD was wrong and what Akshara did hiding abhir was equally wrong!!! Period.

And yes, she was and is legally obliged, as she got pregnant when she was still in the happy marriage. And the custody judgement proved it!!!

Uske baad puri duniya ko pata hai ki she is not on good terms with her ex-mother in law for whom she is responsible for neil’s death and her relationship with her ex mother in law is sour from both the sides still she tags “Maa” word with manjari which shows how superficial she is! Rishta jaisa hai waise he address karo na! Maa word har kisi ke liye use nahi kiya jata yeh toh usko bhi acche se pata he hoga lekin fir bhi ex-sasuma ke sath maa word tag kar ke superficial banti hai and abhinav is also as superficial as her. “Bhali buaji “ ! I mean really! Jaisa relation hai waise address karo na! Atleast manjari is not superficial! She is true to her feelings that’s why only “abhinavji “ from her side, no acha, bhala, bura, saccha types tags when addressing him.

Jab khud itne superficial ho tab dusro ko abusive bolne ka kya point! Pehle feelings ke sath true rehna sikho otherwise hamesha dusro ko mixed/double signals bhejoge and jab samnewala tumko sahi se pehchan lega tab woh tumko abusive lagega.

@bold::: this is what is being said for their proposal scene. Uske baadh, AK had a perfectly normal relationship with Abhi which lead some on-off stupidities but resulted in a consensual physical relationship manifested out of love and resulted in Abhir. But phir bhi, abusive manipulative words are used without context in Abhi-AK yrkkh world.

Whatever Abhir did wasn’t because he was forced - he did because Akshara-Abhinav had hurt him and he was probably just holding on to Abhimanyu out of insecurity. I don’t get why Akshara insecure - as if validating Abhimanyu’s role in Abhir’s life would some how discredit Abhinav as his father! Her character can never become mature.

I agree with you but No matter what you say they'll not get it....

Well what can anyone expect when people want to justify everything because to satisfy their own judgement on a character by looking at one side view by constantly talking about how he is toxic person and his mistake on WD. Also I don't get why the "celebrate" when the whole point is that BP was the one who did this to "Sharma family" had he shut his mouth then abhinav would have told abhir the truth and this alone would have made Abhimanyu happy. At that point he didn't even think of custody.

I just noticed (my opinion) that Abhimanyu not once he felt insecure of Abhinav because he saw that Sharma family is happy in kasauli and just wanted acknowledgement from his son which was due. ( But he did say abhinav that aap itne bhi ache nahi ho because to him they hid the fact of Abhir being his son ... akshara ka samj aata h why she has hidden but Abhinav ka nahi )

Even abhinav accepted that what ever happened with Abhimanyu is wrong as he himself knows how insecure he felt of Abhimanyu as he was afraid that the son he raised and loved will call other person dad. And now Abhimanyu has to accept it because of his son's happiness. Like someone said in some episode that who are we to decide another persons dukh and dard is bada than theirs? Same who can say akshara ka dard is bada than Abhimanyu?.....

Looking at every character in this show everyone has major flaws. That's the writers sole mistake. Zama might have done this ( no doubt abhinav is portrayed acha Aadmi character but by stepping on other characters... note: people might disagree to this but as human everyone is at some point selfish , so called "toxic", as such... ) get trp n save show as RS says but at the cost of butchering the other characters.

Well is third not second..... Abhimanyu was the first ( if not abhir wouldn't be there ) , Abhinav is/will be second and Abhimanyu again would be third.... It's not my opinion or my delusions .... Facts According to the story line ( but may be if you are post leap watcher then for you it's Abhimanyu second but in reality he was first and will be third choice of female lead akshara )

Aah, now this is a rookie mistake a lot of people make.

Some ACTUAL facts for you.

DEFINITION of CHOICE according to the oxford dictionary : An act of choosing between TWO or more possibilities.

Abhimanyu was the first man in Akshara's life, her first husband. That's it. There was no CHOICE involved cause Abhinav wasn't in the picture or the show.

Abhinav is Akshara's first choice when she had to choose between Abhimanyu and Abhinav. Akshara rejected Abhimanyu twice. Once in temple, then in Kasauli. She chose Abhinav over and over again. TWO possibilities. ONE choice.

Abhimanyu in the future would be second choice as it's already established whatever his position, it's not before Abhinav.

So while Abhinav was alive and in the picture, Abhimanyu was the second choice, the second option. The one she would bother to look at after Abhinav's exit.

But the competition and winner when they went head to head has always been Abhinav.

Now if there's another entry and Akshara chooses Abhimanyu over that man, he would be her first choice wrt to that. Not in respect to Abhinav. He's always gonna be narratively second choice when it comes to Abhinav.

Hope the actual fact is crystal clear now. The actual definition of choice.

Olden days m toh yeh common hi ta... You don't go call out to those people who might anyone's ancestors.

What? Lmao. 😆

Am talking strictly about characters like I always do.

Am comparing the difference between 6 year old 40 year old and this absolutely ridiculous notion that the former can emotionally manipulate the latter. And the fact that the 40 year old thinks a 6 year old stay away from his mother when he himself can't.

There seems to be a notion here that the guy can be called abusive only and only if he's hit the woman and is always rude to her

Faking suicide to get a girl who rejected you to "confess her feelings" and change her mind is manipulative, abusive, narcissistic, and disrespectful of a woman's right to consent.

Akshara literally got guilt-tripped for 'apni behen ki khushi ke liye mera dil tod diya, mujhe chhod diya' by the same dude who divorced his miscarrying wife for "hoodwinking his much-older-than-her- adult- brother" to the site where he knew his life could have been at risk and then fighting with goons unarmed.

This show has repackaged a lot of triggering and abusive behaviour as, to quote Shahi, "intense romance." Anybody's personal opinions, or the characters themselves normalising problematic, abusive behaviour wouldn't negate the fact that what is shown in the show is abuse. No amount of Janiye will change that. Lol.

These are the literal definitions of domestic violence as per DV act of 2005

"any act, omission or commission or conduct of the respondent shall constitute domestic violence in case it:

1. harms or injures or endangers the health, safety, life, limb or well-being, whether mental or physical, of the aggrieved person or tends to do so and includes causing physical abuse, sexual abuse, verbal and emotional abuse and economic abuse; or

2. harasses, harms, injures or endangers the aggrieved person to coerce her or any other person related to her to meet any unlawful demand for any dowry or other property or valuable security; or

3. has the effect of threatening the aggrieved person or any person related to her by any conduct mentioned in clause (a) or clause (b); or

4. otherwise injures or causes harm, whether physical or mental, to the aggrieved person."

They are divorced now but Akshara has been frequently abusing Abhimanyu emotionally, verbally and we could say economically too after leap. She manhandled him in hospital. So will that also constitute as violence or its violence only when done to spouse?
