I haven't seen the latest episode yet, but I saw the day before's episode. Finally the confession has come!

I have to admit that I was getting mildly irritated with their architecture analogies in the love confession ("pyaar ki moorat" and all 😂 ), but nevertheless, I am glad that they were finally able to express their feelings. I also have to add that I loved Katha's outfit (the white top and pants) in that episode.

Now that the confession is out of the way though, I hope that the show won't be too plagued by negativity/usual and predictable drama; after all, Teji "hates" Katha (in her own words), so now obviously she will try to sabotage their relationship. Arav is also an important factor. Now the next BIG event is probably the reveal of the ONS. 😳

only reason I am still lurking. but I am keeping my expectations low. I have a feeling that as usual, there won't be any real conflict and everyone instead will hail katha the way viaan does.

So guys,

I always wondered about this topic, so I thought that I would ask in this forum. What do you guys think about the ethics behind a relationship between a boss and an employee? For example, take the relationship between Katha and Viaan (also let's keep the ONS outside the equation, since it complicates the situation). Viaan is not even a team lead/senior/manager; he is the CEO of the company! There is a huge gap of power (in the corporate hierarchy) between Viaan and Katha. A lot of companies might even restrict relationships with this huge a gap in power. Do you think their relationship is ethical? Realistically, their relationship (or even the suspicion of a possible relationship) would actually be quite controversial, gossip-worthy, or even scandalous. That is because people think that personal feelings, judgments, and biases can often cloud both the boss and employee's professional life. Moreover, unfortunately the woman involved (if she is the employee) can be branded as a gold-digger as well, so it becomes difficult for her to work in a healthy environment.

I am curious to know your opinions on a boss-employee relationship!! Feel free to voice your thoughts. An interesting way to imagine this situation is you can imagine a colleague of yours in a relationship with the CEO of the company, and then say if you feel if it's ethical 😂

PS. Sorry couldn't tag everyone!!

What Ethics? Viaan himself become CEO because he is the son of founder. Vanya is getting important projects because she is half sister of CEO. Katha will marry Viaan and become boss of the company.

I think it is a bit problematic ethically. But we have seen this dynamic in fictional shows before I guess. There are certain things which I don't like to see even in fiction but I am ok with this.In a real life scenario it would be awkward and create controversies and problems especially for the woman.

amra -- different companies have different interpersonal relationship rules. in some companies, there is a strict no dating policy. in some, if a superior and subordinate start dating, then for fairness argument, the subordinate is then transferred to another department so that no one else feels the subordinate is getting better privileges.

even here, the question is at what point is the person transferred. relationships these days are very fickle. people are casual and even if serious, many relationships do not last more than a few months. so the question then for HR becomes at what point do they take action.

usually, it is when the relationship breaks up, it becomes headache for many. I heard of a couple whose fight affected the whole department as everyone felt on edge. both were throwing all sorts of accusations at each other and the department wanted both these two to leave because they were making everyone else uncomfortable -- eventually that is what happened.

it was frustrating for people because these two would make up and then breakup and then make up again. in the meanwhile, work was getting disrupted with these two personal drama.

in some instances, people take breakups hard and start cooking up accusations. there was one general manager who was having affair with his assistant. both were married with children and this affair went on for close to two years. then the manager decided to break up with his assistant and she was ticked and accused him of sexual harassment.

people in the office literally burst out laughing because they thought she was being absurd. everyone knew it was a mutual affair and everyone was aware of it even though it was supposed to be a secret. in the end, nothing happened to the manager and the assistant was transferred out to another department.

then there are cases where people start dating someone new. one girl dated a guy and they broke up. then she started seeing another colleague in same department. these two guys then ended up in physical brawl over this girl. everyone was shaking their head at this girl who seemed to find her boyfriends only in office.

so on and on it goes. it is about how we figure out HR policies and what is safe environment. you have men and women working together and yes, stuff can happen.

when we have happy love stories, no one bats an eye at office romance really. plenty of couples meet in office, love and marry. some with power gaps like manager and assistant. if it all turns out happy, we think cute. the issue is when you get problems, then we have the question -- what do we do with romantic relationships in office?
