Barbie is worth the hype. I always disliked what the doll stood for. But my God! The movie used the toy to do a What If question. What if men are treated the way our society treats women?

Main bhi hoon. I am least affected by all the review threads and hype. I am even going to those threads and commenting despite having no intention of ever watching either film.đ
Barbie looks trite but Oppenheimer looks even worse with just 3 hour dialogue baazi. Tough decision
Barbie has been the biggest pop culture phenomenon for girls worldwide and probably most famous doll/toy with enduring appeal of all time.
So the hype is bound to be there as there is no girl since 1950s who has not grown up playing with Barbie or collecting Barbie dolls.
Whether movie is feminist or not, it does not matter.
Any woman who grew up playing with Barbie dolls will be keen to watch it. So will little and younger girls.
Barbie is as huge a cultural phenomenon as Marvel and DC heroes and heroines.
The Barbie sets, comics, accessories, houses, dresses, dolls, posters, stickers, stationery have always sold like hot cakes among girls across the world since 1950s.
The hype was bound to be there even if movie was not feminist.
It is not hard to understand at all.
