The Birla family was introduced as a toxic but unusual family and the current narrative is undoing all of that and trying to turn them into the poster child for generic toxic ML family.
Yes, Manjari was abused by Harsh and that dynamic allowed for Mahima to also boss her around. But....the dynamics of the rest of the house weren't like this. Both Mahima and Shefali had their own identities beyond the family and were both successful women. Anand and Parth weren't the best husbands but still tried their best for their relationships and had the ability to change and improve with time. The siblings especially were pretty close with not a lot of issues between Abhi, Neil, Parth and Anisha. Infact they supported each other more against their parents.
Infact the only real issue in Birlas was Harsh who got exposed and left the house. So what then? Where did all of this residual toxicity come from? Manjari and Mahima have always fought, but they have also always come together and supported each other at various points. They are shown as being the same as Ak and Arohi. Parth being an abuser wasn't even hinted on before and now they completely flipped the characters of Parth and Shefali to fit this narrative. Mahima was never this blind to Parth's problems and didn't support him in anything before - how do they expect us to believe she would support him in DV?
From the first leap onwards things have been stupid. A better storyline would be Mahima realizing where she went wrong with Anisha and supporting Parth for his career choices. Shefali-Parth can continue to have issues that they slowly work through.
But they destroyed everything just to push the narrative that Birlas are generic abusive family that do DV and don't treat women right and have a toxic crazy mother of ML and so on.
