Reading any defense of Ram is essentially reading the defense of a confused, entitled, arrogant, materialistic man-child who manipulates people without realizing it hiding behind the facade of being this awkward bumbling silly one but really he is shrewd, calculative and manipulative. Just like his mom blackmails him emotionally, he does the same. I'd rather see a yuvraj, shreya or k who are clear about their objectives and dont pretend to be nice. They are shallow, money minded and selfish and they own it. Ram is all pretense. He disgusts me as things stand. And what annoys me most is that there is no character growth whatsoever. He just mumbles and cant put his foot down. Some businessmanđ He wants priya and K- both at present. His issue with K is that his mom does not know he's involved with her. Priya is a confidant, a sane, grounded individual who is caring for his mom and clearly emotional and manipulated by his "Jaan Jaan" aalaap and K is the hot sexy one who he wants as his arm candy too.
He lacks all manners whatsoever whether it be table manners wrt food or being chivalrous to a woman.
He doesn't respect people, he just pretends and charms his way out or pretends to be a silly buffoon to get himself out of any sticky situation. No honesty about him.
Priya chose this mess so i can't fully forget that to absolve her but apart from her rash decision to marry like this, her stance is clear. She's genuine, logical. lovable and i am rooting for her. She's heartbroken after trusting the wrong man yet not bitter and despite having a loving family she's alone because they don't really "get" her frame of mind.
Priya deserves better than a jerk like Ram. After Yuvraj, Ram is another bad choice if she falls for him. I hope she remains aloof.
For him, and this is a huge step, he is clearly developing, tomorrow he will break loose and run to Priya
He has not broken up with K. He is stringing both women along. I don't see any growth in him. I am not liking his characterization at all.

His whole jaan jaan thing with his mom also falls flat when he has barely done anything to actually improve her lifestyle. He eats junk in front of her and thinks that just by throwing money he can improve her health. It doesn't work like that.
He manipulates Priya by mentioning his mom when needed and she softens. But next minute he alienates her and treats her like a stranger.
He behaves in a completely disrespectful way in many situations - small and big things all clearly display his utter lack of tact, sensitivity.
Every thing he utters to Priya ends up becoming problematic when I watch.
Him fatshaming her every day is not funny.
His random mumbling and awkward behavior are not lovable, endearing or funny to me.
He has shown no growth at all.
Its a shame coz the actors have good chemistry. But the way Ram is written- i cant root for him at all.

Priyas monologue shows how these supposedly harmless fat shaming jibes hit Priya hard. Because she thinks to herself - "why did K choose such a bad room for me. Why does she hate me and Why is she insecure. Afterall she's a model and I'm just me".
She's insecure about herself , her appearance and has self worth issues.
Her mom and sister also completely unintentionally made her feel less about herself because she isnt into sajna-savarna and Yuvi dumping her to find a hot rich girl didn't help and now this man who is her contract husband throws random fat shaming jokes at her every frickin day.
And the only thing she takes pride in is her financial independence and career and Ram kinda dented that too by trying to move her clinic without even informing her, let alone discussing. Still she gives him benefit of doubt and is kind to him because she feels he is stressed due to his mom and wants to help in any way to make Shalini feel well and see her through to recovery.
Even in meeting number 1 he was judging her and the size of her clinic etc and when she confronted him for the clinic moving attempt recently she said it out loud- that maybe you are ashamed of my clinic, its locality and it not being up to your "class" but its my identity.
Priya is being too kind to this jerk called Ram Kapoor.
I agree đŻ to your statements. May be Yuvi is a better written character than Ram as he didnât choose to two time Priya with Alekha even if his reasons were shallow and selfish. I am finding no reason to like Ram. His character arc seems to be declining day by dayâŚ. iI didnât watch the episode and not planning to either. I am appalled at the turn of events. Earlier when the BTS of Ram-Priya in the hotel room played, I joked that Rakri will celebrate honeymoon and Priya will be stranded. That cringe situation is almost looking like happening now, sadly!! The casualness of EMA and fat shaming in this show is unreal. Itâs like we are back in the 80s and 90s.mMany times, people who judge others openly and casually donot take a moment to look at themselves. I want a situation where Priya confronts Ram about his behavior. How is this done so casually is not something I understand. Then people call him the ideal man and caring husband!! How?? This dialogue, "Jaan ke liya" is irritating. For his Jaan he will take someone else Jaan as well. How do they even come with such plot . He is showcased as a millionaire and when he is on honeymoon , he brings his girl friend ...and media doesn't know abt it. Kahan gaye shardul???!!
Something that I have never understood is why do they have to show negative female characters so cheap . Being selfish is fine but in this case its like Krithi has no self respect. This is not the first time they are showing women in this light.
Today I am very thankful to my dearest TV remoteâ¤ď¸. I saw the entire show in 5 mins.𤣠I felt disgusted seeing the way they are treating Priya. I mean she is actually helping RAM and he is not even considerate about her. And what is that scene in the room where Ram is checking out some dress , I hope he is not body shaming Priya.
Its becoming a trend to have a show with as many negative characters as possible along with one hero and heroin. Even the good characters they will turn them to a negative character. They are literally ruining the theme of the show.
Ram is neither able to be business like and keep his relationship with Priya entirely professional and aloof, neither is he a supportive contract husband/friend who can protect her from the disrespectful behavior of his own "family and friends" in return for her being cooperative about the whole arrangement. She fulfils her end of the bargain but he doesn't. He puts her in embarrassing situations, casually fat shames her and jokes, makes unilateral decisions, can't respect her or her profession, can't honor a simple promise also - like to keep Yuvraj away from wedding. This is a bad decision whose consequences are almost entirely rough only on Priya.
