Can someone tell me are women really stopped from education and work in India? What’s this regressive crap. It’s sickening to see what Kaku is doing to Savi. Then that ML’s disgusting family where the women are tortured and Bhabhi was forced to delete her whole account. Women’s dreams and lives are crushed for men and so called family’s honour. I thought India was a bit progressive or there were laws against it. I don’t understand why and how the family was able to snatch the son from her mother? Aren’t the custody rights for mothers there? Why and how was the ML’s family able to keep the Ishaan away from his mother?? That too cos she want to work and help her parents?

This whole tradition of woman leaving her parents to live with man’s family to be unpaid maid is abusive as hell. Why should women serve man’s parents instead of her own? Husband’s parents are his responsibility and while the wife should be kind to them, but they are not her responsibility. Her responsibility are towards her parents, her kids, her own self and husband alone. Women are made to be unpaid maids to the in-laws while their own parents are abandoned. And why should women be locked inside the house to be slave and not live their lives while men get to live all their lives and complete all their goals?

I'm sure this show isn't the correct representation of the whole country. There may still be some regressive societies here but let's not generalize.

Yes there are laws which favour women more than men but then it's just fiction, we can't expect them to show a 100% clear picture.

This I agree with and I'm sure the society is changing gradually.

No...It's not the representation of the real India...There are regressive people and families here and there..But fiction makes it more exaggerated...It's not the depiction of real society

Because, women are being taken care of by in-laws and husband family after wedding.

IMO The talk of my parents, my kids, myself only sounds selfish whereas being able to do something for the in-laws developing a long lasting relationship with them seems like being inclusive to my husband. Treating my in-laws with respect is my way of expressing love to my husband because my husband exists only due to my in-laws.

In our house there's no your job my job concept, all chores are ours between me and my husband. Similarly no your parents my parents concept, it's our parents. My husband takes care of my parents and gets along really well with them. My parents love my husband more than me. I get along well with my FIL more than my SILs, I am aware of blood is thicker than water, still we all are a family and I was never made to feel like a stranger or outsider, because I know my limits I detach myself depending on situations.

I respect my FIL for the way he's raised his kids, my husband, and both my SILs. When I'm married, I had initial hiccups adjusting with my FIL. Its because my FIL is very disciplined and 20 year old me wasn't. My MIL has passed away before our wedding, it was challenging to survive in a male only household. Cut to 18 years, I love and look up to my FIL more than my own parents. I became a better person after my wedding only because I made efforts for these relationships. Relationships do need time and efforts to establish. As they say there are no free lunches in this world.

During my wedding I was told by mum settling in my new family is similar to plant transplant and I have to embrace the new family and make my own place like how a plant has to adjust to the container along with the soil to overcome transplant shock. Soil is my husband, and container is the new family.
