IMO, murtasim character's only insecurity ie; meerab doesn’t like him, once haya, MZ, or anybody says that he goes into sulking and self-destruction mode. He hadn't shown to be having anything else than passionate love for Meerab.
Meerab's greatest insecurity is betrayal of trust, and she runs away from a situation where there's the slightest possibility and Haya’s fiasco was too big.
Finally, the reason for their consummation could simply be that many times, couple's and consider physical togetherness as their last-ditch effort to continue the marital relationship.
But after doing the deed when murtasim wasn't around meerab felt it's better to vanish or go away from murtasim's life because. Though their union is consensual, it wasn't definitely as planned. He's guilty because he's been aspiring for it but not this way and she's against it and couldn't control herself from doing it in the spur of the moment, hence She's not able to see her face and both are drowned in their guilt.
The time has flown, but they still have to deal with the same situation, i.e., the existence of a 3rd person in their relationship.
Ironically, murtu is found literally doing what he has been denying, i.e., marrying Haya, whom he denied having any feelings or emotions needed for a love relationship. Also, his accusations about meerab were disproven, with her never bothered to even look at Rohail and him getting married to someone else.
Today's episode has a connection with the accusations meerab levelled against murtu in episode 5 during the thappad scene. It's time to see if he indeed is thinking meerab as his escape plan or if he has a spine with a brain above it.
I can talk about many complaints on murtasim character but want to wait till the drama unfolds completely to ensure I'm not being unfair and hasty afterall he's the writer's favourite character.
