No. You can directly upload from your gallery in phone.
When you click on the icon above which has a mountain and a moon sign it will have two options upload image and external image. Click on upload image and then go to your mobile gallery and upload the pic. Wait for a few seconds while it gets uploaded and then post.

No. I am also using the browser only. Look at the pic below. The second last option in the second row is the one to upload pics.

yeah I click on that icon and it shows url link. it doesnt give me an upload option. i had made an account a long time ago but i have just recently started using it.

i have had this account since 2018 i think but I haven't used it until now. and sometimes use my phone and sometimes pc. both don't have the options.
