I see your hooting and screaming fans watching a movie they have tickets for in a nation of a billion and raise you twenty thousand Swifties singing along in the parking lot outside the stadium they did not get tickets to.
Forget any fandoms; Swifties could probably take on the army of a small nation.
When the audience cheers for Akshay, I get a nice feeling but a better one if there is no other audience there. I like a quiet cinema hall.
I like a little hooting..like how the fans cheer during Salman or Shahrukh intro scenes or a good high drama scene(Lagaan,Bahubali).I mean you know the hooting is more out of their excitement for the scenes and not shouting for the sake of it.
So I like a lil hooting..it does help in elevating the thrill of certain scenes.
i hate the it when people do hooting while watching movies. I get irritated. Laughing is obviously justified but those hooting gangs laugh also so loudly in irritating way.Originally posted by: PangaNaLe
If you live in India, you definitely would have experienced shouting, hooting and whistling in cinema halls while watching a popular movie. Its just a part of our "culture".
This type of hero worshipping is on another level in south India. People throw coins and notes in the air and dance in front of the screen. It happens in North India as well, but its rare and only for Salman and SRK movies.
Fans take pride in doing this. Audience enjoys it or at least are used to it. For me personally, it does enhance the movie watching experience, even if I can't do such stupidity myself.😆
But is it actually acceptable? Laughing in a funny scene is justified. Cheering when its an important scene or dialogue is understandable. But Indian audience gets too hyped for anything. It doesn't even make sense. You're not in a rock concert. Its a movie. The actors can't hear you. So for what are you shouting? You want to express your enjoyment for the movie, but you're not watching the movie all alone. You're in a public space. Other people have also paid to watch the film, including those who want to watch the movie in peace. They have came to watch the film, not your shouting, hooting and whistling. You're ruining their movie watching experience.
Most importantly, its not legal. If these people complain, obviously no one will listen because we've normalized this. But they still have full right to complain, and there's really no excuse for such type of behaviour.
I was watching this Telugu movie Raavanasura in hyd recently. hero Raviteja rapes a woman or atleast shown as raping. …and the men are whistling and hooting. So disgusting. Lest the theater soon afterwards.
disgusting. In sanju n judwa 2 experience, some boys hooted n laughed loudly on kissing scenes n adult jokes that was also embarrassing for me when i watched these movies with my family. Judwa 2 was my fault but i didn't expected it in sanju. I blame Raju Hirani coz most audience was family audience but only 1 gang of young boys was enough to make the experience worse.I was watching this Telugu movie Raavanasura in hyd recently. hero Raviteja rapes a woman or atleast shown as raping. …and the men are whistling and hooting. It's fine when a movie starts or at the end but not during the movie. People got a habit of walking out during songs which is disturbing or talking loudly on the phone. I also don't like kids running around and crying loudly during movies. Also, some have a habit of making sounds for any intimate scenes or a bikini scene. It just ruins everything.
