Wow, her PR really went to town with the “Sita ji” calling by paps, didn’t they? That too literally a day before Kriti’s role as Sita was releasing. Was the paps calling her Sita ji organic or was her PR behind that one too?
Of course her PR 😆

She’s always trying to be someone else, now after Deepika (remember her stretching her neck to appear taller) it’s Kriti. In the beginning of her career she was aping Parineeti. When she found out Shraddha can sing she also sang a cover for one of her movies 🤣then when she realized she’s a terrible dancer she tried to do a Kalank to prove that she’s a Madhuri (ironically with Madhuri in the same song but just standing around) and styling was like Aishwarya from HDDCS, turns out even Aaradhya Bacchan has more lachak than Alia. Remember in Kalank promotions she kept dancing in all the promotional events with the “look at me mommy and daddy I can dance” expressions on her face, or like that family event where everyone says beta zara nachke dikhao😆
This girl is soooo immature and embarrassing.
She is petty, I realized it after her "SLB gave Deepika 3 films and he has promised me 4"

I feel it's precisely because it's a two-dimensional story. With the tremendous writers that BW has, and the lazy storytelling, they could never dream of pulling off something as ambitious as Mahabharat. Besides franchises are riskier, and Mahabharat is atleast a 1000+ crore budget endeavor. It also stands that it'd work better as a TV series, because how much ever one tries, the sheer brilliance of MB can't be fit into 3 movies.
I also think the market for mythology in present day BW and the country itself, is vote bank politics. The spiritual, pure, and aesthetic appeal of it has gone. Look at Om Raut literally seeking blessings from every BJP leader for his movie. The end product is garbage but none of these leaders can denounce it as they had put way too much of their word on it when it was filming. The islamization of Ravan (it's subtle but you see it alright) and the braindead dialouges which make Lord Ram look like a revenge machine who's set out avenge the impurification of Sita maa (the parallels are there).
Lord Ram is the hero, Ravan is the wretched villan (thats how the conceptualisation is, which I'm not contesting too much). Where as, Mahabharat has no scope of hero worship, it's not black and white. Even the most saintly of pandavs standby when Draupadi is humiliated. It's really flawed humans with superhuman strength. Only exception is Lord Krishna and Indra but they don't form the central arc. So what vote bank politics can anyone do? What would they use to rally people to put their money and watch it? What is the endpoint to it? Mostly who will produce it? Unless an international the likes of Disney is interested, there are not many takers for Mahabharat to be a movie franchise. That's just my two cents.
Phew.
It won't be a failure. The amount of PR which is going into it before it caste is finalized doesn't seem like they are setting themselves up for a failure and they won't repeat Adipurush's mistakes. Only thing I can see is that Ranbir can't pull off Lord Rama, they should have opted for a better actor 🤷♀️
Nah, it's gonna be a failure alright. Adipurush maybe minting money in the first 2-3 days but it's universally being panned. If this adaptation does happen, it's gonna end up the same. Atleast Adipurush is working because of Prabhas's insane fan following and the hero worship culture of the South, this one doesn't even have that going for it what with the magnanimous BO pull of Ranbir 😆
Alia doesn't have the pull to make Ramayan work. PR can get the horse to the river, but it can't magically make the horse drink the water.

You know this isn't true. I think the popular storytelling of Ramayana is 2 dimensional. But it is more nuanced in the texts. Recently I read an excerpt online about a scene where after Ram decides to send Sita away to the forest, she is taken there by Lakshman who then abandons her there. And she's sitting and crying and Shrupnakha comes there to make fun of her. I never ever heard of this before. And that whole conversation is very spiritually enlightened. I wish somebody made a really good researched movie on this epic. That would be great.
