Maryada was an amazing show very serious topics and told the story of four women from the same family. The matriarch was hiding the truth about her SP of police husband who was abusive and cheated on her and very corrupt, even her FIL hated his own son and her elder son also hated his dad. But she still kept quiet coz early in her life she tried to leave him but he took her kids away and she had little help from the police so she stayed. She also tells her sister to stay with her abusive husband. She shields her younger daughter and her younger son who is the ml from the dads truth. Another wrong thing she does is get her eldest son married to this village girl knowing full well her son is gay and in love with another man coz she fears her husband will kill their son.

The aunt is in an abusive marriage coz her husbands injury cost him his hocky career, one final time her husband beats her mercilessly but she fights back and he ends up dying. the Sp brother in law covers it up but later he starts to lust after her and she gets manipulated by him and they have a full on affair. It leads to the mom and dad fighting in court for divorce so much drama. She finally realizes how horribly she was manipulated by her BIL.

The older daughter in law is sweet and innocent all she wants is to be loved but first she thinks her husband loves another woman but later she finds out he is gay. She first doesnt understand but she stands by him as a friend and its really hard for her especially when she sees the fl and ml in a happy marriage etc. in the end the husband left the show so they ended up divorced and her focusing on her education etc.

The fl had a horrible experience with a police officer who tried to assault her and she complained and in return he ruined her life. Later when she falls for the ml she first doesnt want to marry into a cop family but the FIL manipulated the situation. Guess what he was the molester ewww. Post marriage she tries really hard to reveal the truth and there is a lot of tashan between her and the villain aka the dad but it gets worse when he starts the affair with the aunt and she reveals all to the MIL then she supports the MIL in her divorce case. The husband is totally blind to the dad's truth so when he finds out it devastates him and he acts like a real idiot at first.

The villain guy was played by an excellent actor he was gross evil and hilarious at the same time. In the end he did get his karma. But boy the havoc he wrecked on his family and these women was insane.

If anyone has a chance do watch it. Its not a perfect show but its one of the better itv shows. It touches upon serious issues for sure and doesn't shy away from them. Acting is excellent by all.

Yes, loved Maryada. And good they showed sensitive topics like rape as heinous crimes, there was a thick line between good and evil, right and wrong.

Son was positive, dad negative, son was kind and understanding to his spouse, dad was abusive. Both could be called good people by people who did not know them personally, especially because Dad was a reputed police officer who saved lives. But they did not use saving lives to whitewash his crimes.

Star used to bring such shows like Dabh , Maryada, ek hazaron main then. Now, let us not talk.

I hope sahiba usse pyar na karne lagi ho already.. kar bhi rahi hai to isko to we can call 1 hour ka pyar.. pls sahiba bhoool jana and move on...

Love born out of misplaced guilt. Chalo one of them is a human, Sahiba mar jaati issko bachate he would be upset ki abuse karne keliye koi raha nahi.

I hope Manveer nikal phenke and Sahiba should not argue, itne guilt main ho ki bhaag jaaye udhar se. If she fights for her right to take care of husband , her character ends for me.

Because we all know Angad will side with his mom unless it is about Seerat ji.

There was such a good scope to see Indar understanding Sahiba's fight for her dreams, her passion. They bonding as father and daughter, indar standing up for her. But they have ruined that too. Indar in the show has become manbir 2.0

So now we will see her love him.. Will she leave if Manveer kicks her out? Or does she take care of him

Angad will ask for Sahiba when he gains consciousness

Sahiba will not move on. Abhi toh inki love story shuru hone wali hai 😆

Uske Kapde to pathetic the hi, dusra uska wig bahut kharab tha. Mujhe usme Sanaya Irani kahi se bhi small town girl nahi lagi.

No offence to fans.. but ye TV par kuch bhi type cheeze dikha dete hain aur log pasand bhi kar lete hain.

Maine to Kai saal Tak koi show nahi dekha hai. IPKD to meri roommate dekhti thi to maine uske snippets dekhe hain.

Baki Kai shows me galat Bihari bolte, galat hariyanvi bolte, galat rajasthani bolte dekha.. Ghum ki story/costume/character sab gadbad the.. but at least they casted some very good Marathi actors. So unki Marathi to thik thi. Kishori Sahane is really a good actress.

Anyway.. Mujhe to ye nahi samjh aata ki FL ke doormate banne me aur ML ke abuser banne me kya acting skill chahiye hota hoga? Ek ko Rona bisurana hai, dusre ko abuse karna hai.

Yes, I remember Maryada Lekin Kab Tak.. Jab wo run hua tha tab bhi dekha tha, uske kuch saal baad dubara hotstar par bhi. Of course usme kuch plotholes, continuity aur dusre issues the. But story aur acting sab powerful tha, realistic tha.

Aise to mujhe Ek Haseena Thi bhi bahut pasand aaya. Maine use release ke waqt to nahi dekha tha, abhi ek mahine pahle dekha. Aisi stories kuch had tak "suspension of belief" karna padta hai. Haan, jarur baad me kuch jagah drag kar rha tha show, kuch plot points unnecessary the aur ending rushed aur unplanned lagi. But otherwise show was amazing.

Acting was superb! Lekin sabse achhi baat, usme kabhi bhi kahin se bhi kuch offensive nahi dikhaya tha. "rape is rape" ye clear tha.

Pichle kuch salo me Pakistan ke kai shows me Rape ko dilute karke, ya isme aurat ki galti batate, use romanticise karte dikhaya hai. Ye to "Tere Bin" me etna Halla mach gya bas. Lekin mujhe to wo character shuru se hi nahi pasand hai.

Mujhe to Pakistan aur India dono hi ke TV industry ka ye nahi samjh aata ki inhe "Accidental", "forced" ya "unchaahi" shadi dikhane ka etn craze kyo hai? Ye sab social issues ya reality ke liye dikhate to samjh aata, lekin ye sab to Romance dikhane ke liye karte hain. Ab koi bata de, kisne aaj tak forced marriage me pyar dekha hai? Is abusive society me to Love Marriage ya sabki marji se badhiya arrange marriage me bhi etni pareshaniya, DV hota hai. To kaha se, kis angle se Forced marriage me pyar/passion aa jayega? Ye log small town ki ladkiyo ka brain wash karte hain aise shows.

Are un ladkiyo ka koi etna social network, outing to hota nahi. Sports, dosto se milna julna hota nahi. College bhi roj jane nahi dete, aur college khatm to Ghar baitho. Wo TV se entertainment leti hain. Wo group aisa hai ki jo abhi Netflix wagairah par foreign shows nahi dekhta, uska access nahi hai, etni English bhi nahi aati. Ye log Star Plus hi dekhte hain. To unko ye sab kachra dikhakar kya seekha rahe hain? Ki ladkiyo ko padhna, career banana, financial security hasil karna ye sab bakwas hai. Kitchen me raho, sabki galiya suno, aur dukh ho to Kanha ji/Bappa se prarthana kar lo. Ek din tumhari life set ho hi jani hai. Aur koi ladka tumse battamiji karta hai to jarur wo tumko pasand karta hai. Wo dil ka bura nahi hai. Yahi sab Kachra seekha rahe hain ki Independent na bano, apna career na banao, kisi se respect ki ummed na karo, apne rights khud chod do ki ye ehsaan hai ya galat hai, aur Pati/mayak/sasural sabka torcher saho chupchaap kyonki ek din Inka man badal jayega aur sab log tumhe pyar karne lagenge kyonki in sabme "Kanha ji ki marzi shamil hai!"

Udhar Anupama me wo Kanha ji se Mr. Shah aur unki family ke liye jo wishes mangati hai, wo bhi bahut creepy aur stupid lagta hai. Kyonki basically tum Kanha ji se prarthana nahi rishwat mang rhi. Aur wo bhi unjust cheeze! Tumhare Mr. Shah DV karke bhi etne sajjan hain ki unke liye Madam prarthana kar rhi! Unka Toshu jo pura nikamma hai, usko Sadbuddhi Dene ki prarthana na karke, uski manokamna purti ki mang karti hai! And I am like... Ki yahi sab Kachra dekhkar small town/village ki women aur pagal ho jayengi.
