Pata nahi khush hu ki they edited it ya sad hu ki now things make less sense 😆
It was indeed non consensual earlier, they even edited out Haya and Meerab conversation because that would have made things clear. Also, the voice overs don't seem to gel with the story. Like out of place lag raha hai sab.
just watched it. i agree. the new spin on it makes no sense and the voice-over is not in sync with the actual scenes because they were shot to go with a different narrative. backlash ki waja se pakka change kia hai. if it was consensual, neither of them would be crying and feeling sad about it. we already know that murtu does have some kind of feelings for meerab (even if it's just lust or whateva), and meerab was starting to have feelings for him as well, despite all of her anger and frustration with him. when it's consensual and you both have feelings to some extent for each other, you don't react the way that they are. i can understand some shock or surprise per dono ka itna rona and betrayal feel karna points to something else. murtasim's anger and voice-over certainly confirm that he did force himself on her because he's punching the damn mirror until his hand bleeds and saying how she thought of him as her protector but he didn't stop himself. meerab feeling betrayed and punishing herself and leaving forever after consensual sex??? pagal samjha hai kya audience ko plus like sera said, people with the insider scoop did confirm that people associated with the project told them that marital rape was written in the script and that's what they shot for as well so there's no question about it. my problem is with them taking the drama in that direction in the first place.
alsooo - if we are to buy into this new narrative, how does no one freakin give a crap about maryam's rukhsati? the need to have sex was so urgent that they had to leave the wedding and didn't even say bye to her?
