I’m gonna still pretend in a parallel universe that he shut the door and he went in and he told her that the contract didn’t mean anything and that he could’ve taken her against her will at any point if he wanted to, but he chose not to because he loves her. Then she realises and confesses that she actually loves him back and then smiling she tears the contract and they hug. And after Mariams wedding is finished they finally get into bed together…
