They're idiotic to not realise that this leap in ghum will be the nail in the coffin for the show. There's a less of a chance of leap working for the show. If they had given harshad proper screen time before saiya marriage and established their marriage properly, gone for the twist of satya being ninad's son etc, there would be ample room for this show to be able to continue for maybe another year before a leap would be necessary, but they didn't even give the satya-sai story two months. How unfair that literally within days of them finally ending pakhi's presence in the show and aishwarya leaving they decided to end this generation? Reeks of bias this decision.

RS has been given the benefit of doubt by Star Plus. Half of the time his 3rd generation secured only 2.1 to 2.3.

Why couldn't DKP pay attention to the story. Was it planned from day 1 that the first pair will be shown as fools while the second cross pairs shall be endowed with wisdom inherited from King Solomon the Wise.

Yeah the highest trp's 3rd gen got was around 3.0 during abhira shaadi which quickly went down after their marriage because the story was really lacking, and then 2.5 in the start current leap but that too they could not sustain for more than 2-3 weeks. The 3rd gen actually lacked good tracks right from very start of abhira getting married and lacked the balance of positive family vibes and drama that yeh rishta had created with the first generation and actually managed to sustain with 2nd generation really well.
