Well this is so common and sadly so true. Our housing community celebrates all festivals irrespective of religion. Anyways in India Christmas is popular as a festival among kids coz of Santa, chocolates and gifts.

But when my kids Christian, Muslim friends would come over for casual play and we would offer something during festivals they wouldn't accept saying we don't celebrate this festival. Such things make us wonder why the responsibility of being secular n inclusive rests only on few shoulders.

This is in recent years but had many such experiences earlier too as I studied in a convent college

Yes... I've had the same experiences during Holi or other festivals...

Few years back one of my friends who was in Netherlands for studying experienced something similar in a Church, where she had gone with her Indian Christian friend. The priest there made some insulting comments about lord Ganesha while they were casually talking. She felt very hurt...

Yes

Not to prove anything, but to compile all the 'hatred' at one place instead of spreading it everywhere.

U can ignore if u want to stay away from hatred.
