thus 1 + 4+9+16 = 30

More simpler way is to just multiply each row

Row 1= 1x1=1

Row 2 = 2x2 =4

Row 3 = 3x3=9

Row 4 = 4x4=16

then add them up and you get

Answer = 30 as the answer to the egg pyramid.
