Part 2

Few hours before…..

Senapati Samrat Singh’s chamber:

‘Yuvraaj ki halat ab sudhar rahi hai, wo samay ke sath adhik swastha hote ja rahe hai’, the Rajpurohit told Samrat singh.

‘Aur unki shastrakriya ke baad Rajkumari Tarapriya ne un tak pohochne wali har aushadhi ki jaanch ke aadesh diye hai… isliye humari aswastha karne wali jadibutiyan bhi unko dena ashakya ho gaya hai’, the raj vaidya said.

‘Aur Maharaj bhi Yuvraj ke sudharti hue swasthya ki wajah se Rajkumari par adhik vishwas karne lage hai, aur un par kisi baat ki rok nahi laga rahe hai’, added the rajpurohit.

‘AAAHHHHhhh…’, Samrat Singh threw the flower pots in anger making them break in a loud voice. ‘YEH SAB…. SAB US CHIKITSAK KI WAJAH SE HO RAHA HAI….. AUR RAJKUMARI TARA KI WAJAH SE…. humare sare kiye karaye par ani fer diya unhone….MAHARAJ HOTE HOTE REH GAYE HUM…’, he shouted in anger. ‘Sirf un dono ki wajah se…. Hum uss chikitsak ko chhodenge nahi….’, he said and turned around to look at his trusted soldiers.

‘Jao…. jao aur khatam kar do us chikitsak ko…. Aur yadi koi use bachane ke liye aage aaye, chahe wo Rajkumari hi kyu na ho… toh unhe bhi mat chhodna……JAO’, he ordered angrily and the soldiers hid their faces behind masks and left for doing the allotted work.

Present…..

Dhruv’s chamber :

Tara sat on the bed beside Dhruv’s unconscious form and looked at him with worry, concern, guilt, and something more that she was not able to comprehend right now. She saw the wounds on his body that she just treated and she remembered how just a few hours ago, he was so happy. She saw his stupefied form and remembered how lively he was just a few hours ago. She remembered how the day started on a happy note and a smile came to her lips

***Flashback***

Dhruv was standing on his chamber’s balcony watching the beautiful view of Vallabhgarh that it provided from up there. He smiled as he felt Tara's presence around. Just then Tara came from behind him.

‘Dr. Dhruv, Bhaiji ka swasthya ab aur adhik behtar ho raha hai… hum abhi abhi unhe aapki di hui aushadhi de kar aa rahe hai’, Tara said happily and stood beside him. Dhruv turned to look at her and smiled.

‘Woh toh honge hi, maine jo upachar kiya hai’, he praised himself and acted to be proud of himself. She rolled her eyes at him at first and then smiled.

‘Satya Dhruv, yadi aap na hote, toh humare Bhaiji itni jaldi swastha na ho pate’, she too praised him. ‘Samay sadi se pare aakar unka upachar karne ke liye bohot bohot dhanyavad Dhruv’, she said gratefully joining her hands in front of him. But he held her hands before she could join them.

‘Nahi Tara…. Tum dhanyavaad mat kaho’, he said and left her hands. ‘Yeh mera kaam hai aur kartavya bhi’, he said and she nodded at him with a smile.

‘Par ek baat ye bhi hai ki humare yaha pohochne tak unhe tumhari aushadhiyon ne hi swasth rakha…. Tum ek bohot hi acchi chikitsak ho Tara’, he said and her face lit up with happiness. ‘Maine humare Ayurved ke baare me kafi suna tha, par yaha aa kar pata bhi chala ki wo kafi effective…’, Tara made a confused face. ‘Matlab kargar hai’, he rectified in hindi.

‘Ji… humara Ayurved bohot hi prabhavshali hai’, Tara said with a proud smile.

‘Agar aapki anumati ho toh kya aap mujhe bhi thodi bohot Ayurved ki shiksha de sakti hai Dr. Tara?’, he saked her cutely.

‘Ji avashya’, she replied with a big smile and became very happy that he called her a “Doctor”. Dhruv smiled back and turned to look at the view again. Tara observed the curiosity in his eyes, and how impressed he looked with the view of Vallabhgarh.

‘Dhruv aap jabse yaha aye hai, aapne Vallabhgarh purnatah dekha hi nahi hai na?’, she asked and he shook his head in a No. ‘Toh kya aap Vallabhgarh ki sair karna chahenge?’, she asked and he looked at her.

‘Neki aur puch puch’, he replied excitedly.

‘Toh fir chaliye, aaj hum aapko Vallabhgarh ghumayenge…. Aur hum aapko apni gupt baug bhi dikhayenge jaha hum jadibutiya ugaate hai’, she said.

‘Chalo’, he replied. She immediately turned around to leave indicating him to follow her and he followed her with a smile.

They reached the royal stables first and Dhruv got confused as to why Tara has taken him there.

‘Uhh… Tara hum yaha kyun aye hai?’, he asked sheepishly.

‘Ghode lene, ab aapko Vallabhgarh ki sair par paidal toh nahi le ja sakte na Dhruv!’, she replied like its the thing of common sense.

‘Haan… par Tara tumhe pata hai na mujhe ghudsavari nahi aati’, he said stating his hesitation.

‘Aap chinta mat kijiye…. Hum aapko sikhate hai, itna kathin nahi hai’, she said with a smile.

‘Arre aise kaise kathin nahi hai…. logon ko horse riding… matlab ghudsavari sikhne me hafton lag jate hai, main kuch der me kaise sikhunga??’, he asked unbelievably. Tara smiled at his hesitance.

‘Dr. Dhruv hum maante hai ki aapko itni shighra ghudsavari me maharat prapt nahi hogi….. Parantu itna toh sikh hi jaoge ki aaj humare sath sair par ja sako’, she replied confidently.

‘Are you sure…uh…matlab tumhe yakeen hai na?’, he asked her again.

‘Ji Dr. Dhruv… aaj aap ghode par santulan se baithna aur uski lagam sambhalna sikh jayenge… aur aapko hum par vishwas hai na?’, she asked and he nodded in affirmative.

‘Pura vishwas hai’, he replied with a smile.

‘Toh fir bas… hum toh rahenge hi na aapke sath!’, she said and he nodded with a smile. ‘Chandan…chandan’, she called out to the caretaker of the horses.

‘Pranam Rajkumari ji’, Chandan came in front of them and owed to Tara. Tara nodded at him.

‘Chandan… Toofan ko le aaiye’, she ordered him and he nodded. A couple of minutes later he returned with a chestnut horse.

‘Dhruv, ye Toofan hai… iske naam se bhramit mat hoiye.. bohot hi shant swabhav ka aur samajhdaar ghoda hai…. Aaiye aap bhi isse dosti kar lijiye’, she said stroking the horse’s mane lovingly and Dhruv walked towards the horse. He hesitantly forwarded his hand to touch his mane. ‘Ghabaraiye mat Dhruv… ghode aksar manushya ka bhav jaan lete hai… prem bhav aur mitrata se sahalaiye isse’, Tara advised and Dhruv then stroked the horse lovingly. Toofan happily took a step closer to Dhruv who smiled at Tara on his success.

‘Bohot acche Dr. Dhruv…. Ab hum aapko dikhate hai ki ghode par baithte kaise hai’, she said and went inside the stable. She got back a few moments later with a white horse. ‘Dekhiye, ek hath se lagaam aur ek hath se kaathi ko aise pakadte hai’, she showed him how to hold the rein and the saddle firmly. Dhruv observed keenly. ‘Uske baad pair ki is khache me rakh kar apne haathon ke bal se khud ko upar uthakar is tarah se chadhte hai’, she said keeping her left foot on the stirrup and holding herself up and finally sitting on the horseback. ‘Ab aap koshish kijiye’, she said and he nodded.

Dhruv then held the reins in his left hand, held the saddle with his right, and kept his left foot on the stirrup. But when tried to heave himself up lost his balance and fell down. Tara stopped herself from giggling, which he noticed. ‘Haan haan has lo has lo’, he said sarcastically.

‘Nahi nahi hum nahi has rahe hai..’, she said trying to keep a straight face. But she thought he looked cute with the sulk on his face. ‘Aap pair rakhne ke baad chadhne ke liye jyada samay mat lijiye… shighrata se chadhiye… dekhiye hum batate hai’, she said getting down from her horse. She then showed him hot to sit swiftly on the horseback. He got up and again held the reins and saddle. He then put the foot on the stirrup and swiftly lifted himself and sat on the horse quickly. Tara clapped for him on his success and he smiled proudly.

Tara then told him how to balance himself while riding the horse and he listened to her carefully. She then got down from her horse and went towards Toofan and Dhruv. She then told him how to operate the reins while riding. After that she patted Toofan and he started to walk. Dhruv tried to maintain the balance on him as he walked and Tara walked beside them. She then asked Dhruv to pull the rein so that Toofan stops. Dhruv pulled the reins and Toofan stopped abruptly making Dhruv lose his balance and bend ahead to one side. Tara quickly held his shoulders stopping him from falling down. He looked at her and his eyes met hers. He just couldn’t help himself from getting lost in her beautiful deep black eyes. She too kept looking into his eyes and got lost in them. She could see them holding gratefulness, attraction, and something more intense that she could not put a finger on. They just got lost into their own world for what felt like forever. Toofan neighed and their eyelock broke. Tara helped him to become steady on Toofan’s back and left his shoulders.

She then trained him to operate the reins carefully for some more time. After a while, she got satisfied with her work when he rode the horse successfully and was confident that Dhruv could now ride the horse for the day’s trip.

‘Aap ek bohot hi kushal shishya hai Dhruv…bohot shighra sikh li aapne ghudsavari’, Tara praised him with a smile and sat on her horse.

‘Ab mujhe Guru hi itni kushal mili hai!’, he replied with a charming smile and she blushed at that.

‘Dhanyavaad’, she said and he nodded. ‘Ab chale? Vallabhgarh aapki pratiksha kar raha hai!’, she asked.

‘Chalo’, he replied excitedly.

***Flashback ends***

Tara smiled at the way he was excited about their Vallabhgarh trip. But then her smile faded as she saw him lying there on the bed in front of her. Humse aisi bhool kaise ho gayi Dhruv? Hum aapki suraksha nahi kar paye!! Hume kshama kar dijiye Dhruv, hum aapko ghayal hone se bacha nahi paye. She thought looking at him with guilt.
