Kolkata Knight Riders have had a topsy-turvy season so far and hence, they find themselves in a must-win scenario. Another slip-up can literally ring the death knell for them. Sometimes, a crisis situation can bring out the best in you. The situation demands KKR to fire on all cylinders. On the other hand, Punjab Kings find themselves in a tricky situation. A loss tonight will push them into the must-win territory but a win will propel them into the third position – such has been the level of contests this season that nothing can be considered safe. Hello and a warm welcome to our live coverage of Match 53. When the going gets tough, the tough get going. Coming out triumphs in the face of adversity can bring a different kind of self-belief and both teams will be vying for that. The Eden surface has played true to its nature and both teams have the firepower in batting to capitalize on it. Can KKR break their 3-match losing streak at home? Or will PBKS outfox the hosts tonight? Stay with us as toss and team lineups are around the corner...

Nathan Ellis marking his run-up nice and early. That most likely means no Kagiso Rabada again tonight

Pitch Report: The off-side to the right-handed batter is short tonight, 58 metres but over to the leg-side, it is 71 metres. The average score in first innings is 222 this season. When you look at the pitch, it has kind of a mosaic effect, looks quite hard. It looks a little bit drier than the last time around. It says to me maybe a little more spin for the spinners. The bowlers need to make them hit to the longer square side, be it pace or spin. You got to make sure you change the pace or otherwise you are gonna get lined up on a good surface, reckon Mark Howard and Pommie Mbangwa.
