SoM - This has been a favorite since childhood not just because of its GOATness (I mean Julie Andrews and Christopher Plummer? Singing? Are you kidding me?) but also because I share a special memory with this movie - jo ki main kabhi aur bataoongi.😆 (I want y'all to bug me for it 😈)

Tfs, KJ! I love this song....

I used to get my tongue all twisted singing 'schnitzel with noodles' 😆

BW music sounds closer to Middle eastern music.

One song I can sing verbatim even though I do not understand a word:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KTCmKmofaKA

Belafonte's vocals are so mesmerizing. That rich baritone! And the way he ups the tempo at each reiteration. A classic!

From Wikipedia: (X)

"Hava Nagila" is one of the first modern Jewish folk songs in the Hebrew language. It went on to become a staple of band performers at Jewish weddings and bar/bat(b'nei) mitzvah celebrations.

The melody is based on a Hassidic Nigun. It was composed in 1918, to celebrate the Balfour Declaration and the British victory over the Ottomans in 1917. It was first performed in a mixed choir concert in Jerusalem.

Here's a Live version - Belafonte with Danny Kaye - one of the funniest actors I've seen.

I first heard this piece of music as it was the theme of a show I watched and loved: House M.D. The theme became so synonymous with the show for me that I developed a special love for it because of that. But then I heard the full song and fell even more in love with it as a standalone piece.

The song is Teardrop

The vocalist is Elizabeth Fraser, former lead singer of Cocteau Twins (which is a great band too!). This time she's part of Massive Attack. I have not heard too much by this group, but this piece is a masterpiece. The lyrics. It gives me chills. Beautiful. Heart-breaking. But beautiful. Hard to believe this came out of 1998.

I have to post the lyrics too because they're stunningly haunting

Love, love is a verb

Love is a doing word

Fearless on my breath

Gentle impulsion

Shakes me, makes me lighter

Fearless on my breath

Teardrop on the fire

Fearless on my breath

Night, night of matter

Black flowers blossom

Fearless on my breath

Black flowers blossom

Fearless on my breath

Teardrop on the fire

Fearless on my

Water is my eye

Most faithful mirror

Fearless on my breath

Teardrop on the fire

Of a confession

Fearless on my breath

Most faithful mirror

Fearless on my breath

Teardrop on the fire

Fearless on my breath

You're stumbling in the dark

You're stumbling in the dark

Mairimashita Iruma-Kun season 3 OP & ED

Opening: Girigiri Ride it out! By Fantastics from Exile Tribe

https://youtu.be/HhbCvC8fwfM

Ending : Nabe Bugyo (Hotpot Boss/Commander) by Wednesday Campanella

It fits so perfectly with the Harvest Festival arc of this season -

The Devil's cooking recipe is revealed for the first time

The supply of ingredients are a big hurdle In the dark, in the dark, in the dark, in the dark

Hot pot in the dark is lawful

To the one who says "I can't eat it"

Go home right now!

Haha I'm just kidding

Heat it up in the microwave (oven) When it becomes soft, throw it into the hot

pot Then just let it simmer slowly

For three days and three nights, and it's done!

Not yet, is it undercooked?

Let's have a taste

it's done?

Hot pot in the dark

bubbling, simmering, it's hot!
