My reason being, the hate has to be really intense for the drama, for that kakku has to be deeply involved.. if it's Ninad, then Aswini might forgive him easily, doesn't mind jayaz/najayaz and accept him as her son next day itself, and Sai her bahu..

The core of this story was kusum dola where no matter how trashy, the leads loved each other, rupkotha had real character growth and moved on in her life, and the entire ensemble had pivotal roles to play.

Yeah, so it's not Sairat ki non-existent love story that brings them trp, it is how these three characters react to each other which brings them trp. Bringing another person to the mix doesn't change much as far as they keep bringing out strong reactions in each other. Ghum would die the day Virat has a hue of decency in him. That js the day he will stop bringing out the worst in Pakhi and Sai/ya would be at peace.
