I thought he was becoming kind of gray character
I really wish Viaan would slow down and give katha some space. When he came into her office room in the last epi, I thought he had come to say that Katha can work here comfortably and his feelings wouldn't get in the way of their professions but no he starts babbling about his feelings once again right after literally one day of rejection that he cannot get her out his mind. Like who does that? No means no. You have feelings for her that is your problem, you cannot expect her to say yes just because of that.

Hey Paulaonohi, an interesting analysis of Viaan's pov.
Viaan's character is a highly complicated and flawed one and the makers and Adnan are doing him complete justice.
Yes, Viaan was completely intrigued by Katha from the first meeting and was extremely triggered by her asking for such a huge amount of money because of his high expectations on her and his own prejudices. Hence, the ONS proposal.
But, I personally think Viaan never intended for anything to happen between them. Yes, he was attracted to her but I don't think he even realized it himself until that night. I believe he was actually quite upset at the situation he put himself in and more so on Katha for accepting his deal.(The scene where he was having lunch with his mom, Ehsaan and Farah). And he was shown to be very anxious when he was in the hotel room and was just about leaving (when Katha was about to knock the door) so that he can avoid the situation altogether.
As far as I understood his character, he is a kind of person for whom feeling any kind of emotion towards women is something bad and will definitely hurt him. And because of his father's actions and his mother's flawed perspective on most women, him feeling attraction towards a complete stranger is an extremely wrong thing for him. He shut himself off from the opposite sex even before he was a teenager(according to the flashbacks).
Remember how he reacted when Shamita was onto him in the initial episodes... For him women showing interest on him itself is wrong and is enough to judge them as gold diggers. As he himself said during the shamita case, he always used to judge them from afar. So, he cannot be doing anything consciously. All of his feelings and actions towards Katha have been subconscious in my opinion.
Since, the makers have left the whole kaali raat sequence to audiences imagination I was quite shocked at the way things turned out to be and confused as to how to understand Katha and Viaan's thought process at that point. But I somewhat understood all of that from the way the story is progressing till now.
So, I will try to explain my perspective on this whole issue. Please bear with me.
Viaan opens the door to leave and there Katha stands and he gets shocked. He tries to act cool and see what she does and hopes she will just turn and walk back out. But then, when she asks him to show the money he gets triggered again because she is just proving his judgement right... And when she puts her bag down he takes it as a signal that she is not leaving and that she is ok with whatever is happening. I personally believe he is so overwhelmed with whatever he is feeling at that point (I think its a mix of lust, anger, awkwardness and judgement along with confusion at whatever he is feeling) that he was not in a space of being able to understand her expression of discomfort and unwillingness. He was just so lost in his own complex feelings because of the fact that she is not saying no. And, as the last grab at some sanity and hope that she will draw back at least then, he asked her to leave if she was uncomfortable. But she refused to leave, and he just succumbed making the biggest blunder of his life...
And then, he was left with even more confusion along with regret and guilt and that made him more bitter and angry towards Katha because she didn't back down and put him through this ordeal. Along with that Katha's hatred towards him confuses him even more and he doesn't get why she is so angry when all along it was her who never said no. Hence, harassing her about the money and all the crazy behavior starts. And then the redemption. He started understanding those confusing mix of emotions gradually and that evolved into love the more time he spent with her.
Basically, he is a person who stopped processing his feelings since the trauma caused by his father, just living in his prejudices and now, because of Katha, he is unraveling.
As for Katha, based on the way she behaved with Viaan after that night, I saw hatred and pain, and even guilt and shame from her (especially when she was talking to guni maa and neerja) but never disgust towards Viaan. That's what was the most surprising thing about her to me at first. I felt like she blamed herself more than him. For a woman who is no non-sense she put herself in some vulnerable situations when it came to Viaan.
I think it may offend some sensibilities and I am sorry for that in advance, but I believe she did feel something that night and that actually made her even more traumatized and confused given the situation she is in, so much so that she stopped thinking about that night at all. Instead she focused on her son and work and tried to be in a positive state choosing to ignore the kaali raat. Because thinking means she has to process her feelings and that will make her question her own values and her character. That made her hate him more for putting her in such a situation.
But when he begged her for forgiveness and when she got to know him better she started melting without realizing it herself. Hence, her hanging on to every word everyone says about Viaan, her searching for his past in the internet, her changing the AV for him, her sharing her life story with him and all the while resisting her feelings also.
That's what I understood from both their characters
I hope makers would give clarity in the future about her feelings on kaali raat like they gave for viaan. (Atleast in a subtle or indirect way because it might be too controversial for ITV). Lets see....
As usual sorry for the long post and again I'm sorry if I hurt anyone's sensibilities....

Even i want that but i think that day he did go to her cabin to say that first ,my intention was not to make you hurt and i respect you ,you are important to me
I was fine till the point he said he cant switch off his love
Its the rabb ne chaha to walla dialogue that should nit have been said and then jugnu thing
But yeah he should stop going to her or staring her
It makes him look stupid but i dont think its harassment till this point i hope it doesn't turn into one

Thank you shalzie, but in the beginning of the show I was just shell shocked at this show and was wondering how can this be a love story with such dark beginning like that... And mostly wanted to just bash viaan's head in even though he intrigued me...😂😂😂
And Katha just confused me at first even though my heart went out for her...
Her reactions to him after whatever happened were very different from what I was expecting from her.....
It is just recently that I can even try to understand what they were trying to show.....
And also maybe it's just me but I just wanted some silver lining in that dark night so that it can be okay somehow for them to fall in love....
That I'm not so sure of... But I think that his head was clear enough for him to make decisions.
It's his own complex feelings and prejudices that made his mind clouded I believe... Made him unable to think rationally....
ONS episode was very well executed one. Viaan surely liked katha from instance he met her and this offer for her was just test for her. He wanted to know whether she is like others or she is different from what he thinks Women are like for money. I don't think he wanted her to come that night , it is very clear with his monologues. But she came contrary to his expectations. What happened then between them was a deal he made with her. For him it makes sense he had feelings ..for her we all know it was money meant for her son. There is beautiful monologue in the end of night in ONS episode with viaan falling in the chair in his balcony.. Saying today I was hoping you will make me cross the bridge but you drowned me forever. I really wished makers would have gone back to his feelings in that ONS as there were feelings already..he never did that to anyone but her. . I don't think Viaan wanted her to come and sleep with him.
he definitely had feelings for her as his monologue says it all.. he says you didn’t even turn back once while leaving and near the window he says.. people only forget that is bad or that they don’t particularly like.. something on these grounds..he felt hurt that she came and she didn’t even look at him once while leavingONS episode was very well executed one. It is not just stupid and immature but borderline harassment. Imagine if you said no to a guy and he still kept on coming onto you in a strong way and won't take no for an answer, I would be very uncomfortable and pissed.
