Not particular genres really, but there have been movies that I thought I wouldn't like but ended up loving.
The first one that comes to mind is "Mean Girls." I was made to go as a chaperone of sorts for my sister and her friends. I loved the movie and can quote it by heart. It is one of the sharpest comedies ever made.
Another movie I was dragged to was "Pitch Perfect." My sister really wanted to see it, but a movie about some girls singing acapella didn't appeal to me. I agreed because it was in the cheap theatres. But I was hooked and became an Anna Kendrick fan.

Both are masterpieces. Asoka is one of Anu Malik's best albums till date, most original one I would say. Second, Rehna Hai Tere Dil Mein....
To those who have lived extensively in both kind of climates , what will you pick from either of these two for straight 6-7 months per year...
