Looks grab my attention; Acting retains it.

Both are important but I voted for acting.

looks but acting needs to be average at least not cringe level

Definitely acting, if a very good looking actor cannot act then that puts the viewers off the character and the story. Good acting can creat charisma and charm onscreen, it can make the character likeable and believable.

Withoiut hesitation my vote goes for "acting"...I would not be 'turned on' by the most good looking actor in the world if I can't connect to his acting...and good acting makes actors/actresses attractive to me (although MY criteria for good acting may very well differ from many members here...).

Acting requires time to make a mark on the viewers whereas looks does the work chutkiyon mein.In the long run it’s def acting.But the combination of both is the ultimate one.

A mix of both maybe.....I don't know how to explain so I will just say......everything that SRK has......charm karisma, larger than life persona on screen....

Acting of course but film is a visual medium so it truly helps if the camera loves them.
