Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga
Attraction is a fickle thing. It creeps into you without a hint and refuses to leave. It pours magic into a gaze and electrifies a touch. Every sound is suddenly Beethoven's piece and every smell is that of freshly bloomed Jasmine. And the most important characteristic of attraction would be the object of attraction itself.
Here's a disclaimer, All the features exist only around that object and turn your world upside down.
And if you ask Dr. Satya Adhikari - debonair extraordinarie, he'd say the number one feature of attraction is somehow wanting to see one Dr. Sai Joshi, every waking minute of the day. Unfortunately for him, the lady has a sharp tongue and even sharper wit, making it impossible to charm her. Then again, they were the cause of his attraction in the first place.
He remembers their first meeting vividly. The concentration in her eyes as she examined the patient in the car and the fire in her eyes, scolding him for being an internet-sourced medical prodigy. What a sweet moment it was, Dr. Sai Joshi being proven wrong. Her pouting face and sulky voice would forever be etched in his memory.
Satya would be a fool if he said that holding her close when she tripped hadn't evoked something in him. Something, that he had buried under layers of indifference and lightheartedness. The sense of her soft body in his arms and her fragrance messed up the wiring in his brain.
Oh, what idiocy it was to drop her !!
Just when he was about to classify all the weird sensations as some inane crush, his mind had to go ahead and make her sit behind him on a bike. Some knight-in-armour syndrome, he must say. And then he had to faint and become the the damsel in distress in the arms of the very woman he intended to save.
Oh, and what a lucky day it was !!
He was out of his senses and yet, his trained "masala brain" remembered it all. The gentle fragrance of jasmine and sandalwood that engulfed him and anchored him. The undertone of spicy cinnamon ignited a fire in him, a fire that continues to grow at every glimpse of her.
Oh, what a mess he'd be in, if the lady in question got to know his thoughts.
Satya jolted out of his very 'problematic-for-him-if-Sai-gets-to-know' thoughts and heard the commotion that was happening outside. Anticipating an emergency, he walked out of his cabin, only to bump into Sheetal.
"Sheetal, what happened ? What's with the all the noise?", he questioned.
"It's raining outside Dr. Adhikari. The season's first rain and everyone is just happy. You must join us", the enthusiastic nurse urged him.
"What do you mean by 'everyone' ? Even the doctors ?", he enquired, trying very hard to hid his curiosity about Sai.
"Everyone means EVERYONE", Sheetal chimed, "And that includes Dr. Sai, if you are curious"
"What rubbish !" he scoffed, "Why would I be curious about Sa-, I mean, Dr. Joshi"
"Oh, let it rest, Dr. Satya." she smirked, "The whole hospital has a bet on both of you. Well, mostly you."
"WHAT ??"
"Okay, enough of all the questions. Believe me, you'd regret not coming with me", she advised him and dragged him along before he could ask another question.
And by the time they reached their destination, he could not be more thankful to Sheetal.
Dr. Sai Joshi - with her innumerable qualifications and all her eccentricities was dancing in the rain and boy, was she dancing.
Clad in a yellow saree, she jumped like a child in the rain and his heart jumped along with her. Caring less about her apron, she danced and danced.
Satya observed her every sway of her waist and every nod of her head. His heart skipped a beat every time her hair flipped. There were others around her in the rain, yet his eyes only found her. The yellow saree that clung to her ?
Definitely didn't help the Raveena Tandon fanboy-teen in him.
And then, she turned around. Met his eyes. The world around him vanished and all he could feel were the eyes that held him in a trance. The eyes that beckoned him forward to them and the eyes that held the secrets of his universe.
She stood in the rain, no longer moving. Yet, she danced. Her eyes danced with his and he swayed along with them. Satya walked forward, feeling the rain drench him slowly. And then he ran.
"Dr. Satya !!!" he heard Sheetal call " Where are you going ?"
"To earn people in the hospital some money, Sheetal !!!" he yelled, laughing and ran towards Sai.
Standing in the rain and smiling softly, Sai Joshi reminded him of that Ghalib's Shayari -
Ishq par zor nahin ye vo ātish Ghālib
ki lagāe na lage aur bujhāe na bane

Gahhh !!! What did I write ? I have no idea. Just had to put all these clustered ideas in words and after since @Nja91 suggested the idea, I had to it. This is just an experiment and very much open for more ideas and prompts.
Tell me what you feel..
Tagging only the ones that I can remember and recognise from age old days.
Also, I can't believe that my first ever SaiRat story had rain in it and so does SaiYa. What does this mean ??? Lol
