IMo, katha is rattled by the changing equations. Yelling at Viaan is a defence mechanism. She is behaving erratically.

I don’t think she should be fired. Irl, her boss would have given her a raise after this. Because her boss is Viaan and so h helped him out. Teji has no control over her employment and was not involved in Earthcon then and now. All she knows is to wear nighties and worship cheater Viraj. Katha could even be said to be smart. Even if she wasn’t genuine, she managed to get her boss to appreciate her and could be said to be cunning because what she has done will definitely open many doors. If that Shamita had done what she did, I think even Viaan might have given her another look when she came to seduce him because it meant she was sensitive above his own mom and may not be all that bad. Katha won the prize. A raise and greater affection and special favors from her boss. Teji can go and sob in a corner. And again, the presentation also gave ample honor to all parties. Unless her boss had no checks and balances and was unhinged, it would be crazy to fire the architect of your biggest project for that. At worst, have a grudge which will lower your image in the company.
