Love, respect, understanding and trust.. all are important. As the marriage life progresses love for spouse will be diverted towards kids. Kids become priority.. in that case respect trust and understanding are very much important for marriage life to be strong and successful.

Respect is the foundation for any relationship. If there is respect and trust in a relationship, love can gradually happen. But if there is only love, that relationship will crumble sooner or later. That is what happened in AbhiRa's marriage. They had love, great chemistry, that soul connection. But there was never respect and trust, especially from Abhimanyu's side. Abhinav & Akshara's marriage is almost perfect. And who knows, with time, Akshu can fall in love with Abhinav too (in a more realistic scenario, they would be living as complete husband and wife by now). Abhinav & Akshu's marriage is everything that should have been AbhiRa's relationship. Instead they just had lots of physical attraction and infatuation. The moment real problems started coming up, their relationship fell like a pack of cards. Makers really failed to create a meaningful bond for AbhiRa, making them a very shallow couple. Naitik & Akshara had the perfect balanced relationship, with respect and trust and gradual love. And Naksh and Keerti also had a beautiful relationship (till the makers ruined them to fit Kaira).
