Katra Katra Milte hai ---This particular song sums up Rekha's entire life narrative. She has yearned for love all of her life, but every man that entered her life did so for their own gain and left her feeling abandoned.
She showcased her brilliance in this song, displaying grace while expressing emotions, her dreamy side, and the inner anguish associated with desire for love.
Thanks for sharing this song, dear. ❤️
I just want to wrap this movie in a blanket and protect it at ALL costs so it isn't subjected to any remake.
Literally any portion of it.

There’s old and then there’s O.L.D.! 😆
Aur recent daalna ho toh BWD forum mein thread start karo 😆.
Sorry, I should have said upto the 80s. First page pe criteria hai! Honestly I have nothing against more recent songs - just that this thread was made specifically for 40s (or older) upto 70s. 80s bhi stretch hai mere liye but I’m allowing it. 😆
Katra Katra and Ijaazat are just *chef’s kiss* - can’t tell you how much I adore that song and the movie! ⭐️⭐️ It would defffo be in my personal Top Asha Bhosle songs ever list.
I'll try not doing anything beyond 90s. Sometimes the Lyrics are written by same people who wrote in the 70s/80s so it seemed okay before. Anyway I'll be careful. 😆
Ijazat is my go to. Protect it at all costs. Music to dialogues to scenes.

Okayyyy THE ACCURACYYYYYYYYYY 🤡❤️
There's a Guru Dutt Dialogue I came across this week -
"Mujhe Shikayat hai Samaaj Ke Uss Dhaanche se....
Jo Insaan se Uski Insaaniyat Chheen leti hai."
The accuracy.
Guru Dutt is a self-destructive genius, his cinema always created a sense of illusion.Originally posted by: EuphoricDamsel

In Guru Dutt's experimental song sequences in films such as Pyaasa and Kaagaz Ke Phool, we see an expressive linkage between the story of the frustrated and talented artist and the form of picturisation of the song. These songs, which, in the poetics of Bombay's cinema tradition, are meant to represent the transforming emotional states of a film's protagonists, become visual, lyrical and musical representations of those very states in the psyche of their artist-heroes through Guru Dutt's re-choreographing of visual expectations. The experimental form of the song illustrates the creative struggle of the protagonist at the same time as it represents a real life effort on the part of the director to re-imagine the formula of an aspect of his medium.

I need to do a Guru Dutt marathon. I've always listened to how much of tragedy he was because my mother was err IS such an ardent fan of his...I need to get on board so I can discuss with her. It's long due.
