Itâs like comparing apples and oranges, I am absolutely clear that Viaan is an arsehole and PapaG is an old fashioned egoistic man.PapaGâs behavior is still a reactionary one. That is he feels he has been wronged, his ego is hurt and he behaves accordingly. Therefore to forgive him means to take into account other aspects of his behavior, which is what happens in real life. A mother is often found telling her kids âyes, daddy was wrong in yelling, but beta he loves youâ
Viaan is NOT reactionary, it stems from his own insecurity and frankly bratty egoistic self.I am absolutely clear that what Viaan did was unforgivable and frankly all his actions in real life scenario can be construed as a harasser. In fact to me itâs not the ONS where he is the harasser, itâs the behavior afterwards - the slight taunts, the dragging her to Dubai, asking her again in the elevator. This makes him a terrible man. NONE of this is excusable.
BUTThe story of his redemption is the one I am totally getting manipulated into. For me itâs that arc that makes for interesting viewing. For the father to redeem himself is very easy, thatâs why you find those scenes, boring and dragging, because all he needs to do is have a sincere apology- but in Viaanâs case, that will NEVER do.
Sorry i wanted to tag you as well but after adding two members i thought I will edit and add i was not aware it doest allow .
I wanted to tag everyone who is into these discussions đ
To some extent i agree to your point the Vian was wrong ,by comparing him to PapaG i don't want to give him a clean chit but my point is
Who was aware of the cancer ?
Who was related to Aarav ?

Arrey why you apologizing? Donât be silly. As you can not tagging has not stopped me na đđđ. if I am around, I will definitely participate. Actually have not seen episode today. Got busy with something else, but this point you brought up was interesting.

Agreed. But Then,
Without knowing anything, Viaan behaved descpicably.
Knowing everything, PapaG behaved descpicably.
Kathaa should not forgive ANY of them. But the relationship and age angle puts PapaGâs position on an easier redemption journey. Itâs like how on oneâs death bed, even an imprisoned murderer may wish for forgiveness.
From Kathaâs perspective, she may allow her son to have a relationship with his grandfather, but have zero respect for him. Therefore there will be a thin thread there.
This is not the same with Viaan.
Hence it is comparing oranges and apples.

True. I have reached a point where I feel Katha should forgive Viaan jabki i know it's too soon for that

Hmm plus as mango pointed out at least he had the intention to help on that very day .
Maybe they had put this in script to justify that he is not all bad đ

Actually so here I am a but different, I donât think Katha should forgive him. I feel that she can never really forgive him, that this thread of lack of trust will be there forever. Despite that, they come together. It would make some fantastic storytelling if they can pull that off.
Like being able to see him as a boss who is equitable to his juniors at work
Like being able to see him through her sonâs eyes
Like being able to give it back to her FIL or ex SIL
So in many ways, accepting him with this huge flaw, huge misgiving. His whole life being about having to make up for it, and he willingly wanting to do it for her.
THIS to me is the love story .
I just wanted to say that maybe from Katha's POV and as viewers we might think that Viaan was harassing her after the ONS. But at the same time I also feel that that wasn't his intention. He was just confused with everything that happened between them and was trying to get his answers. Whereas some people are true harassers and will not even care to accept it or see their own characteristics. Here, he knew that everything he was doing to buy her time and talk to her post the ONS was all a blunder from his end and he accepts it so can we really label him as a harasser?
