Do you guys watch Pakistan dramas, which is infamous for legitimizing toxic men as being sexy attractive hot, especially when they are played by good looking actors. Pakistan is a conservative Muslim country with lots of domestic violence, India too, so lots of tv critics are against such depictions because they normalize violence against women. The women will always end up with such husbands, just like how we expect to akshara to stay loyal to abhimanyu. There is so much sexism here too, if a woman has half the bad qualities a man has she would be torched, just look at arohi. I am not saying arohi has reformed but no one would even consider it, but the same people are expecting abhimanyu to reform his ways and keep giving him chances.

Tragedy is this wasn’t always the case in India tv, during the height of ekta kapoor power her shows didn’t have toxic male leads, stupid yes, cheaters maybe, bad husbands mostly always but not toxic. So what changed in the last 10 years. I think Toxic characters are fine, but my problem is when they show the female lead ends up with such characters.

Hands up how many people would root for abhimanyu if it was played by a less attractive actor. Did harshad cast knowing that this character is abusive and only he carry it off with his looks and sexy abs, please count the shirt off scenes. This is what happens in Pakistani dramas the more abusive the male lead the better looking the actor becomes.

I am ranting sorry as this subject was discussed in Pakistan forums today because of a drama called Tere Bin, where the male lead slaps the female lead, guess which show is trending. The slap was waved off like nothing happened, no consequences nothing and we are supposed to root for this couple because it is all sexy.

Since you mentioned Pak dramas, have you watched Dil Lagi, Daam, Pyar Kay Sadquey, Dunk, Khaas and Kankar? Indian TV shows can't be compared to Pak shows. Dramas in Pak are way more normal progressive and intense. Take the recent example o Parizaad.

yes I have seen them all. Bilal and yumna are my fav actors, Dil lagi is a legendary drama and is the perfect example of showing two powerful male and female characters with neither being toxic, yes I know there is Thappad in that drama but it had reasonable context.

Yes.

We really need to think why we're drawn towards toxicity? , no..toxicity is the next normal bec aggression and anger is normal. Due to stress , workload , impatience, and countless number of issues with everyone , they drink, do drugs , and take out their anger on the person in front of them ....n they think it's normal. Like there r so many comments which read "abhimanyu will obviously get angry bec akshu did such a dumb thing ". Parth gave the same excuse..that shefali makes him angry , he is stressed . But bec parth is physically abusive while abhimanyu isnt , the later is a hero. The bottom line is that as long as the hero isn't physically abusive , he is fine .

It all depends on the execution..its not like we love to watch toxic characters . Who will root for humza of darlings ? Problem is when good looking actors play such roles . Then there is a complete bias , blame the heroine for slightest of her mistakes while wait for redemption of the hero ..Then there is out and out negative characters and somebody like abhimanyu and virat who fall in the gray zone . They r still the heros bec their better halves r responsible for the blunders they do 😆 Sai is muhfat, strong headed while akshu is dumbhead and blunders through life..

Coming to paki dramas they r in a diff league altogether . Gone r the days when sensible shows were made in paki..now it's kachra , being watched by millions bec it's entertainment and hero heroine have good chemistry . Their male and female characters, both r idiotic. They Lack depth n they do kuch bhi.

I like to watch acha admi abhinav😆 This reminds me in the initial days of the leap , some fans found aroo Interesting while akshu was plain n stupid . So one has to be toxic/evil/ to be interesting ..

The makers are giving wrong messages or there is something off in today's episode.

Abhimanyu is blaming Akshara for leaving him midway, dialogues are out of context

Why? he does not know that he signed the divorce deed first.

Coming to AK, she has totally settled and is domestic bliss, why will tv fans want a reunion.

I'm glad for a change the fl realized that she has a better life than what it was with the ml and she doesn't want to give it up for anything. This I am happy about..don't care about any dhak phak , it's illogical and irritating ..the dhak phak went away at the time of divorce . I won't be rooting for abhira anymore , just hope that abhinav gets a respectable exit .

They r truly spoiling the essence of love and sacrifice ..all the Birla bahus must boycott Birla mansion including arohi..she is being used for Neil's daughter (doesn't matter if she likes it bec for once , she and her daughter r important to somebody ) ..same way akshu will.be used to get abir..now I know why Birla children r wackos. It's in the blood. Ruhi abir shivansh need to get away asap
