Anything can encourage some sicko anywhere. Where do we draw the line? There are appropriate warnings, ratings, parental controls put in place to prevent kids from watching this type of stuff. And that’s really all that can be done. As for adults, they have free will and are responsible for their own actions.

It’s just acting. Aaron did a great job. He got the award. There have been plenty of movies and shows on serial killers before.

Something being done for ages doesn't make it right automatically.. movies and tv series have an impact, it should be taken in consideration.

Another thing missed out in case of this movie is the consent from victims families..

consent is the main thing, the victims family have already suffered so much, imagine seeing it being enacted, celebrated like it is some regular movie for entertainment

I do not agree. I am not one to gatekeep free will of adults to watch what they want to watch. Something is always going to offend or influence someone somewhere.

Pata nahi yr warning for kids ya adults also required. Recently there was a case in New Delhi where the killer said he was inspired from shows like Dexter.

Ideally I would say if such movies are being made let it be less cinematic and take a liberty and show criminal meeting worse fate even if it didn't happen in real.

Yes its never the rapists/molester's/Pedo's fault.....it is always the girl's or somebody else's fault.....

If the outrage has to be shown ....it should be shown where criminals who gang raped a pregnant woman...killed her infant daughter and were released years later....what message does that give to a potential rapist.....rape karo...kyonki jaan pehchaan ho to I will be free one day....

Misplaced outrage...😳

But the award is for his acting abilities. So how is that not right? Sickos don't need award validations for movies and shows to get motivated for crimes. They do crimes coz they are perverted, sick and have no remorse.

How do I explain.. award is the trigger for a larger discussion on how movies cinematizing offenders need to be relooked at.. there have been reports of criminal offenders leaving note that movies motivated in doing the crime.. so It does need to be evaluated on what we show in the movies or rather more important thing is how we show it in the movies.

Movies don't motivate. They are timepass for everyone! If anyone is saying they get motivated by a show or movie they are deluding themselves and others. People do things coz they want to not coz they got inspired/motivated by something they saw onscreen. Example a person watches a movie about scaling Mt.Everest that doesn't immediately make that person leave everything and start mountaineering. If that person ends up being a mountaineer its because they wanted to. Everyone gets sucked into a movie for 2.5 hrs..feel a high for sometime and then forget about it.That is a fact. Similarly a criminal would not go around killing coz of a movie/show.. they kill coz they have a hardened criminal mind. Gory stories are not entertainment but are made to show the realities going around the world. Crimes won't stop just coz someone stopped making movies on crimes.
