That’s part of Oscar’s credibility though. The fact that they are not focused in a movie’s popularity but rather entirely on its quality. It doesn’t mean people won’t disagree with their picks or they’ve never gotten it wrong. But there is definitely a lot of credibility they because it’s all about content.

It’s actually a running joke to see how many best picture nominees one has even heard of. There are exceptions of course like the year Tiranic won or the year LOTR won.

Don’t get me wrong Departed was a great movie. Argo and Hurt Locker are decent films. An I’m glad they won. But for Most part I don’t watch the movies. A don’t think that builds credibility. It may build it with some people but then it alienates John Doe types who can’t go for that type of stuff.

George Clooney directed GNGL. Got a best director nomination. An still I’m sure more of his fans remember that thrashy Batman movie he did rather than GNGL 😆

Didn't she delete everything on her insta associated with this movie and all sorts of articles that she's upset with Rajamouli? Now when it is getting recognition, she wants a piece of the pie 😆
