the 2nd leap is nasty but it showed some major truths and flaws of both abhimanyu and akshara which both are not ready to except and the cruelty of fate is if they dont get past these flaws they can never have a successful marriage especially now when they have a kid.
for abhimanyu.
his mind is numbed with all the drama going around him since his childhood with his mother and rest of family. most of the time abhi is shown humane and his humanity shines especially as far as his profession is considered .his empathy towards others and practical approach is his normal trait when it comes opposing bad and siding with good.
but it disrupts when it comes to his most loved ones especially his mother and akshara and now roohi. he goes to extreme lengths and try to alienate others from them in order to protect them.
like in case of his father he totally cutts off his relation to spare himself of the pain .and he expects manjiri to also do the same. which is wrong because he categorizes problems as white or black not considers it can be grey.
he never thought keeping himself in the shoes of harsh or manjiri.
i.e is his problem which is shown in his relationship with akshara too,
in both seperation he thought about the pain he went through or the apparent risk for his mother who supposedly is in death bed. so in fit of anger. he as always decided to cutoof akshara by giving divorce.insteadd of trying to make akshara understand or even showing some patience and humanity he brutally divorced her .
he needs to understand that even if his mothers condition is not stable or she is in death bed he should have have patience to be with akshara not only to reduce the burden of her guilt but as a husband whose wife has lost their children .
this flaw of abhi to cut people off and be in his own bubble of self loathing and agony is the brutal reality which abhi need to understand this time because this time he not only just seperated himself from akshara but also from abhir and plunged abhir into this cycle of hate. he needs to overcome this flaw if he dont want to see abhir and him enacting the same hate story which he and his father had lived.
nice post, lot of valid points. I agree Abhi is most of the things you have called out, despite his flaws I always felt connected to Abhi more than Akshu. To me Akshu is too good to be true. This is probably why I refuse to believe Abhi was capable of the despicable act of accusing, divorcing his wife, the love of his wife for whom he even bowed down to jharu. I feel Abhi's character assassination was done by makers to justify leap 2, as leap 1 failed miserably.
Redemption already looks far fetched, If they further butcher his character with the custody battle, I dont know if he can redeemed at all😭. My wish is, when he sees Akshu and Abhir, he realises and truly regrets his actions and decides to walk away from their lives. Abhir can then have a medical condition that only Abhi can fix and then we see how the real parents come together to save their most precious gift. Wishful thinking I know
