Infact I am surprised why we ( i mean film industry) have restricted our scope to only one play by Kalidas ie shakuntalam....We have one too many adaptations of this one play only of the great Maestro...
There is one more play called malavika agnimitram which actually isn't one sided and has many sub plots / layers to it .... It has all the scope to be made into a good serial or motion picture...It is a comedy play and quite an exhaustive one ... Based on shunga dynasty with vidisha as it's background it can make for a fabulous landscape

At one time I would have loved to have all our ancient stories onscreen. But now I wish they just leave the classics alone. Been disappointed too many times. I can even ignore the bad CGI but cannot stand it when they insert modern ideas in the old stories & deviate from the original story & start giving gyaan as usual.
