Did anyone here had watched the Telugu Majili and now Ved to know how much latter is copied or indeed just inspired?

Btw, even Majili isn't a complete original story...

Majilis story of a forced marriage developing into a relationship is something we have seen in a lot of movies and tv shows

I haven’t seen ved but every promo scene/ song can be tied to a moment in the original film…so it seems like an exact replica…genelias entry in that autorikshaw rain scene, riteshs drunk song, the school girl crush song… so much so that even montages from songs are copied (the moment where genelia sneakily touches ritesh’s feet as a form of respect in besuri is from priyathama in the original)

It’s not a crime to remake the film…what’s horrendous is not crediting the original and ritesh going all “yes I directed all this” on what appears to be a frame by frame copy ….

I didn't like Lai Bhaari though.

It's again a proof that a critical mind can't predict a movie's performance...I very much like that because art (even a commercial one) should not be predictable when it comes to its success (immediate or in the long run...even in a very loooooong run 😉 ).

Is he, forza? I doubt.

He is a well known actor in Hindi Cinema and the regional Marathi one...and now he tried his hand in a rather safe remake (as he had a reference at hand). The movie is successful at the box-office... however that doesn't make him a superstar, imo.

Very happy a marathi film do well after almost a year. Last hit in Marathi was Jhimma. Majili was crap so i don't know if I'd watch this.

Majili was "crap"??? In which way?
