what makes me wonder even if Appa gave a son to take care of God, what could be the reason hiding or not making aware of it to his other children. That era or now as well it is not a crime. So why hide? Specially some one like Appa who is so upfront and open.

Yes that is confusing me as well. May be their mother also knew it.
it was not shown she did not.
prabha maa I tells idol has reached where it should be after appu’s death. Their mother dies before.
I am also not aware of such tradition.
