It is not about you but show can impact anyone anyway.

Who knows how a younger teen took it?

It does desensitize one towards violence and gore.

I for eg used to lool forward to murder and body disposal scenes in Dexter. I was not disgusted or shocked but found it exciting and intriguing.

And I think there may be people who harbour fantasies of killing people they dislike, as shown in slasher genre shows and films. You never know who acts on that impulse or fantasy.

Most of the female population love to simp over these toxic men - Draco , Karna to name a few

"Poor" "innocent" little souls who have the right to be toxic and abusive. It is Hermione/Panchali s job to love them even after all the eve-teasing

So no it is not restricted to Bollywood - Right from literature to Hollywood, Bollywood , South films and even Tv shows all over the world promote a such culture

Worse... it's mostly women promoting this idea. K boy has multitudes of female fans who abuse Panchali for daring to call him a small man instead. She didn't take any s*** from anyone, not from kings, not from husband. Called the Pandavas lunatics who should be locked up😆. Wish TV shows would show that scene. Would be a great example for girls on how to have self-esteem and a steely spine.

As I said Female population love to simp over such Men

They lub to watch Ml mistreat Fl. It's very romantic

I mean it is of course Fl s full-time job to mollycoddle these grown-up kids and "Reform" them with their LUB

There is this scene in Kavita Kane Karna s wife, where Panchali says that she DESERVED the eve teasing for insulting Karna. It was actually all her fault.

Dramione fans cant stop writing stories about 100 ways in which Hermione should have "Reformed" Draco which includes being an S*x slave

I highly doubt these simping fangirls would be able to digest Panchali in all her glory

I mean starBharat forum was proof enough. All the so-called "Panchali fans" wanted was for Panchali to be proven Arjuna doormat because that is all she was good enough for

They could not stop simping over fanfiction where Great Arjuna has to explain the importance of Rajsui to a distraught Panchali, whose only aim in life was not to be separated from Great Arjuna

Have been saying this since forever.

Violent TV and web series are the death of humanity. When GOT got popular I told my husband, now what? Audience wants next level violence and gory entertainment, makers will come up with something absolute inhuman form of entertainment.

Cutting n cursing someone is everyday’s business. Alcohol and drugs are the definition of “fun”. American youth is heavily influenced by pop culture and Webseries. Same with India. A generation grows up normalizing these things. What is the norm in visual media right now will be reality after 2 decades. It’s extremely sad.

If people can be inspired from movies in a positive way they can also be negatively influenced. Movies are a reflection of society and vice-versa. Can't really put the responsibility on parents only, a child can get influenced by friends and so many things. GOT definitely desensitised me to violence. It became more acceptable. Indian webseries are violent for no reason but to be cool.

There are other characters like heathcliff of wuthering heights too but i didn't mention him too. I really meant Darcy on steroids. An exaggerated and inflated extension of darcy.

Maybe you are talking about the Kiera Knightley movie version than book or the more faithful BBC version Darcy. Sorry for assuming.

Because I agree with hear me roar's take on Mr Darcy. I don't remember the 2005 version much but ya there were some.cliche scenes.. so if that had Darcy showing cold anger at her proximity to Wickham I don't know.

all kinds of books and movies have entertained from decades, that doesn't mean that they should be emulated in real life. our society has deteriorated because of many factors including the loss of family unit, community etc etc

not sure why else but movies should be kept away from the woke....

Violence toward women existed long before movies.

Thing is a lot of movies and shows romanticize violence. I'm one of those rare people who never watched GoT, so I don't know if it glorified violence.

I would never recommend sanitizing shows of brutal reality. Otherwise, sexual assault becomes *insult* or *dishonor*. So on and so forth.

What should never be done is romanticization or glorification of violence and violent characters like Kabir Singh did. Like a lot of Mahabharata TV shows do.

I didn't consider the possibility Nathu was talking about the movies

Book Darcy is very different from what he was saying. There's arrogance and prejudice of money, but he's not even close to being angry with Liz in the books. The only insult comes during the proposal, and she dishes it back. It's never confused by her as romance.

And he has to change himself to make himself worthy of her. The man jumps through hoops for her.
