Some girls go through puberty faster. A significant percentage of girls almost look like young adults by the time they are 13-14. Teenage girls for various psychological reasons also tend to have a strong desire to be seen and treated as adults. This results in dressing and acting like grown-ups, applying make-up to look older, and behaving flirtatiously with older people.

It is the responsibility of adults to discern between children and grown women. It is up to adults that just because someone may dress or act grown up does not mean they are grown up and draw the line. For too long society has put the onus for immature kids to think rationally rather than expect adults to act maturely. I'm always disheartened by adults who sexualize kids because the kid was a kid and acted immaturely to try and appear grown up. Emma Watson and Millie Bobby Brown got so much negative attention when they hit that in-between age. And they didn't even do anything that overtly suggestive.

But in Riva Arora's case, it is disappointing to see parents allow this sexualization. Look, I don't think parents should sIut shame teenage girls. But you're supposed to protect them from adult leches. Riva may not be 12, but even at 15-16, she's still a child. Having a teenager do romantic videos with 30+ men is not a good look. It's Ok when teens flirt with other teens on social with sexy pics, flirty posts and captions - but when adults start doing that on a teen's social media - you have to draw a line.

I don't think it is right for kids to play the sax. But when it comes to violins, I am on board.

Her parents should be ashamed of themselves for making her act with way older adults or acting like an adult herself and giving her injections to look older or make up or dresses to look older or getting enhancement surgeries done to make her look mature.

Disgusting to rob child of childhood and innocence and use her as cash cow.

This is child abuse and we need a law to stop exploitation of kids in glamour industry.

What is legal age for girls in India? 16? I think it is 18. Regardless, the brain is not completely developed - maturity - until mid 20s. If it has been done in the past with Sridevi, Avika Gor, Hansika - that does NOT make it right. Do not sexualize children. Work towards helping your community do better, not say well it happened here or there.

And Sachin playing a sport is different from sexualizing a minor ffs.

*can't screenshot - dunno how*

He is so WRONG for this. Can't believe he compared a boy playing sports with others boys in a field with a 12 or 15 year old minor romancing a 35+ old guy.

We are living in hell.

Sridevi, Neetu, Rekha and earlier black and white zamana actresses also used to be padded up or made to wear hair styles and make up like adults at 12 itself and made to act like heroines opposite 40 YO actors.

I am shocked why predators, abuse and child labour in glamour industry is left unchecked.

I came across her youtube channel via Reddit and was shocked to see a video she had uploaded over a year ago about her dad who is no more. She looked like a kid (10-11 yrs old) in that video was asked or made to shoot such a video which is beyond my understanding. She obviously did NOT think of shooting such content on her own.

Regardless of earlier puberty and all that other stuff, it is still NOT okay for her mom to let all this happen. One look at her insta and it is clear how her entire feed is sexualized. It has some extremely questionable and disturbing posts and poses for a 12 year old (or even 16 year old for that matter)
