Wow! What a start we had to this T20 WC. In the innings break Frylinck said his side was confident of defending this total and they have vindicated that statement. Namibia showed great batting and bowling depth in that XI they fielded. If they can get the top-order firing, this could be serious business for even top teams. All is not lost yet for Sri Lanka, but they do need to pick up at least one big win to repair that huge dent on NRR. If UAE and Netherlands saw Namibia bowl, they would have understood that keeping it on a length or fuller is better on this pitch.

It has been an eventful start to the World Cup. In the opening game Namibia thrashed Sri Lanka by 55 runs and then these two - Netherlands and UAE - gave us a low-scoring thriller. Tomorrow the four teams from Group B will be in action. Can we expect something similar?

The meaty part of the T20 World Cup is called the Super 12, comprising 12 teams - like it says on the tin. Eight of the 12 have qualified directly for this round - Australia, England, New Zealand and Afghanistan in Group 1; and Bangladesh, India, Pakistan and South Africa in Group 2. The Super 12 stage begins on October 22, with last year's finalists Australia and New Zealand squaring off in Sydney.

That's eight of the Super 12 spoken for, what about the other four?

Before the Super 12 begins, there's a first round that starts on October 16 and runs until the 21st. Netherlands, Sri Lanka, UAE and Namibia comprise Group A of round one, while Ireland, West Indies, Scotland and Zimbabwe form Group B. The top two teams from each group progress to the Super 12 stage.
