twist towards end was planed that way only. It was hinted in title song but none of us thought it would be so dark. Actor stayed all the way to end. But viewers did not like the twist and all wanted show to be shut down.

I read rumours that the actor wanted to quit, which is why they had wrapped it up that way.

All I can hope is that NUKSH doesn't go the TPR way, but with the PH being the same (and your news that TPR had a pre-decided end), I won't be surprised it it does. And if it does, I'll probably quit- that dark twist is really, really dark! 😔

Edit- is there any major difference between the two stories so far in terms of characters? Dev's mother perhaps (for whom he goes to the Balghar) or his father/Pratap?

Yes the twist is really really dark in TPR.
the wrapping up could be mixed as the change in ML character did not go well with viewers and then actor wanting to go.
we always used to wonder about another female character in the title song. So we kinda guesses what could have been and we’re hoping till end that it would not be dark. But there were hints here and there so they might have chopped few episodes or cut the drag as viewers did not like it, but story was pre decided. Also after the twist TRP started going down
