Chapter 1

10:00 am ETF office conference room

After cracking a hectic case all the juniors were completing paper work all the while gossiping current affairs

For a change ETF's chief and second in command were also there not at all concerned about their juniors chattering non stop because they know they are hardworking and dedicated

But in this they missed Riya constantly looking at her phone but nothing can escape the eyes of arjun rawte

He can sense her getting restless so he did what he always do

"Kuch problem hai kya Riya...? Why do you seem so distracted..??"

Everyone instantly get alerted hearing his voice and looked at Riya..

Riya got startled at her boss's forwardness but whom is she kidding only she knows how much she likes this attitude of his

Yes even after in love onc,her heart has started beating erratically everytime he even looked at her

And right now he is looking at her as if he can see through her soul making her fidget in her seat

"N..No sir..it's nothing just all this..umm..yes this paperwork..it's taking a toll on me..i mean all of us..."

Arjun squinted at her but before he could comment Sameer quipped in

" Oh come on now Rawte, stop instigating.."

Arjun could only glare but got distracted by a phone ringing

Looking at the direction it turned out to be Riya's

"Ha taai pohoch gyi na safely..??"

"....."

"Okay, thank you taai..shaam ko milti hu.." and disconnect the call

Watching everyone still looking at her especially Arjun

"Uhhh..wo meri taai.. i mean"

" It's alright Riya don't explain"

She heaved a sigh of relief as rathod dismissed the issue but she missed Arjun's concern in it...

As they were progressing towards the day's end a call enterupted their attention

"Jai hind sir... WHAT...okay sir we will get through this..."

Turning towards his team who were looking at him questioningly he answered about a case being arrived

Everyone groaned internally while Rathore quitened them up

"Behave everyone it's our duty,i know we all are tired..."

All nodded as rathod briefed them about the case

"Mumbai outskirts pe human trafficking ka ek shipment jaa raha tha but waha kisi school ka campaign tha to they got caught by some teacher and even local police have reached there but uss gang k gussaye hue logo ne unn teachers aur bacchon ko bandhak bana liya h and now they are demanding that they let them free else wo bacchon ko bhi apne saath le jaenge..."

Riya asked a little fearfully " sir,ka..kaunsa school..??"

Everyone looked cluelessly at her when she again clarified "kis school k bacchon aur teachers ko bandhak bnaya h unn logo ne sir..??"

"Ohh ,wo....haa,St.Xaviers school..."

Hearing the name Riya stumbled backwards but Arjun quickly caught her by her shoulders straightening her before she can fall...

Everyone watched horrified as Riya got a panic attack gasping for breath

Arjun turned her roung and cupped her cheeks tapping now and then but when all things went futile he shook her a little too hard bringing her back to reality

"What the hell happened to you Riya...?"

As he made her sit on her chair while others hovered around her

After gulping a glass of water in one go she can utter only one word..."Kuhu...."

Everyone looked stupified at that looking at each other than her

"Who kuhu...??" Asked arjun softly...

But her next words shocked the daylights off everyone

"Kuhu...my daughter..she is being held captive by them..."

Saying this she collapsed in arms of arjun a sobbing mess as everyone looked at each other shocked....
