If I am not wrong and HearMeRoar can correct if wrong, Brahmastra can be countered by Brahmastra, How did Agneyastra play a role in it?

As per MBh, brahmastra was used to counter brahmastra, but Veda Vyasa stopped the collision because it could cause immense destruction.

Agneyastra could not stop brahmastra because agneyastra causes fire even in the magical description of it.

Taken logically, agneyastra is a flame-tipped arrow. Sometimes, a flame-tailed arrow.

Brahmastra from its description seems to be a chemical weapon. It could also have been an ancient bomb because chili salt petre mining was going on even back in the day in the Deccan.

How will a flame tip or flame tail stop a bomb?

But...

There is actually nothing like Nandi Astra or Vanar Astra. There is no Jal Astra either. There is Varunastra.

So I would suggest treating Astraverse as Ayan's adaptation of mythological weapons and not to try correlating it to actual mythology. Or you'll end up with a headache.😆
