I dont know why it is hard to conceive by people here, I am only talking about the unique performances here, the artist within him which was visible in the initial days. Not the money, fame, richness or the popularity.

Well, well...

Intensity and energy and an acting prowess that often lies in subtle movements (one often notices only in repeat viewings) and in the expression of his eyes (easily overlooked by those who see SRK as an "hamming" actor).

He is a good actor (even very good), but he hasn't always good directors.

He didn't work for the label of "King of Romance" - you have to accuse media.

And as for the gray characters and experimenting and going against his image...he did - and not only a few (just go through the list of the movies where he played the lead).

It seems to me that far too many just want to stick at SRK romancing (a genre he didn't like very much to act in). So, doesn't it prove that he excelled in this genre??? (repeated statement: "nobody romances as good as SRK").

Rejecting 3 Idiots, RDB, Lagaan, Munnabhai MBBS and choosing to do crap Farah Khan films instead.

Wasting himself in films of friends especially Farah Khan whose films are crap.

Limiting himself as mere king of romance when he had far more potential and was more versatile than other Khans in 90s. He was great in Darr, Baazigar, Anjaam and could also have done more films like Swades and CDI as well but allowing to be typecast in same old romantic films was injustice to his own talent and potential.

Focusing more on overseas audience and ignoring Indian masses.

Focusing more on building his business and expanding Red chillies entertainment instead of making most of his peak years as lead actor.

Taking his 'biggest star' position for granted. Nothing explains signing faltu films like HNY, Harry met Sejal, Zero etc.

Trying to fit in shoes of Amitabh Bachchan by doing KBC and Don remake. It got him lot of flak once comparisons with a senior like Big B started and he was clearly not accepted trying to equate or replace him.

Getting into public spats with other stars, celebs or that Wankhede controversy and unnecessary digs at others in award shows and talk shows. That only got him bad press or image of being arrogant.

Generally a poor script sense.

Became a cameo king to turn his fans into unpaid mercenaries for other actors.
