One under-appreciated performance of Shahrukh

Shahrukh Khan is the king of Bollywood for various reason, one of it is his intense performances.

Few films were those where his acting ability was not much appreciated the way it deserved.

Which one is that movie, please name it and explain.

For myself, it is Hey Raam.

Although Patthan is about to release, but with a patthan get up and actually playing a patthan in Hey Raam , Shahrukh has given another solid performance that too in front of an acting giant like Kamal Haasan.

He nailed that character and looked every bit of it.

Also in Raees he was kind of under appreciated, but looked very much like the role he played, amazing make over and performance as well, went unnoticed for some odd reason despite the film was also successful.

For me, SRK's best and most under-appreciated performance is Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa. The movie was a flop when it was released. While he did get a critics award most fans also slept on the movie for ages.

I love the performance because it is one of SRK's most genuine and down-to-earth performances. The entire movie was so under-appreciated in its time.

Agree to an extent

But KHKN was a semi hit at the boxoffice even in 90s, and well received by its audience.

Performance wise yes Shahrukh needed a popular award, but during those times mostly that actor/actress used to get popular awards who have given the biggest hit of the year, it was the criteria back than

But in 1994 when KHKN released Nana Patekar won the award for Krantiveer and I think he surpassed Shahrukh in that movie, so was justified.

I would say Raju Ban gya gentleman and Raees.

He did well capturing emotions of young ambitious man slowly distanced from friends as he got higher up career ladder.

All his performances are over-rated to the rooftop.
