Ashwini and Sai are a contrast in parenting styles. Their children are vastly different on age but as a parent they are vastly different.
If there is one character apart from V who has been mercilessly butchered its Ashwini. She was the tolerant, sensitive one who had love for all despite personal struggles. She was the one who inculcated good values, who was perceptive, and look at her now. U-turn and how. Now we know where V gets his pendulum traits from. Both his parents have shown this pendulum behavior repeatedly.
Ashwini hates Sai- ok lets say fine she does. Irrational but ok she has her reasons. She wants her son to move on and be happy - great. Obviously she does. But she as the older, mature, wiser , elderly person who is a grandma now- how should she talk. She should have focused on- Sai is gone too far, never coming back but Sai wouldn't want you to be miserable like this. I feel hurt as a mother to see you lonely without a companion - therefore move on. Try to give your current wife a chance. She has also lost a spouse so she will give you time. instead of saying I hate Sai. You should also hate her guts and move on. Sai is responsible for everything. What nonsense was she spewing . The amount of hatred and cruelty she has displayed towards someone who was not even at fault. She left because of V and pp. Before she left she sang eulogies about Ashwini's parvarish and Ashwini was there to see Sai broken to bits by her godu's words. Which self respecting woman would stay?! That too with a criminal at the cost of safety. Ridiculous. And even in death she wants to curse! Thats a new low. She has shown the effects of long term dwelling with BK, Sonali, omi etc. All insensitive jerks.
Contrast this to Sai. Sai is reeling with anger and bitterness about what V said to her and how he never looked for her. Like Ashwini blanes Sai, Sai blames V. But in front of Savi she has never said one negative thing.never lied. Even today UM had to cover up because Sai couldn't lie to her child. She could have easily brought Savi up as a man hating child blinded by her own bitterness. But Sai has chosen to swallow the bitteness and make Savi full of life and as happy and lively as possible. As a young single mother, rebuilding her life, feeling betrayed it was so much easier for her to tell Savi how her father and his family were horrible people. But she didn't do that. She'd never do that.
