Kahaan..they showed what they wanted to..even after all the complaints

They showed Pakhi blackmailing Sai with her own child

They showed VIrat snatching the baby from Sai & giving it to Pakhi

Then what kind of useless intervention was this?

The only reason why they shortened the track was because this time it involved legallity - and the specific clause in the surrogacy law that people indulging in misinformation about the procedure will be prosecuted..

Instead, they just changed the plot. Patralekha should have spent five years in jail. Waise Bhi they are taking a leap. Kya hi farak padta agar woh dikha dete.

They didn't even show Pakhi signing legal documents of Surrogacy when she was n jail.

Better is to not watch the show itself cos as always, complain is never reacted to and any social media trend does nothing but negative publicity

With the leap and kids, they are going to ignore thr oldr complains and also every audience will forget the surrogacy headache and focus on the kids....

This is with reference to your appeal pertaining to the programme "Ghum Hai Kisi Ke Pyaar Mein" on Star Plus.

The Council viewed the episodes and found that the female antagonist, in keeping with her scheming nature, became the unintended surrogacy recipient of Virat and Sai’s child. BCCC also felt that the doctor’s behaviour in threatening Pakhi with police action for keeping everyone in the dark, while undergoing the surrogacy process, was justified and consequential in mitigating the wrong act that was done.

The Council felt the show is a work of fiction and while crime and deprecation are displayed in the context of the story, it should never be in the realm of encouragement or glorification. It should also be noted that criminal acts, when handled with sufficient care have remained components of fictional storytelling.

The Council directed the channel to be more responsive and conscious of such storylines and the irrepressible need to handle such portrayal sensitively. It was of the opinion that viewers are concerned with overall projection and any effort on part of the Council to make an intervention will subvert the intricacies of the storyline. However, the channel must also be aware of the impact that such plots/sub-plots may have on the viewers and sensitize its programming teams accordingly.

Though the Council is fully seized of the issue that channels do take creative liberties in depiction and portrayal but issues that concern sensitive topics like surrogacy must not be prolonged to hurt viewer sensibilities.

The Council felt that whatever incongruities may arise through a particular episode could not be held responsible for the entire show and DISPOSED OF the complaints.

Such a escapist attitude from BCCC or cover up. So the channel was reprimanded n surrogacy was fast tracked. But the core issue remains

Not once virat said that it was illegal or sai said that I was also an accomplice to something illegal and ethically wrong practice. My friend had to opt for surrogacy as she miscarried twice and IVF failed.

It was emotionally and financially taxing. Whole family stood with the couple. It's a bliss for them. N ghum execution is so triggering. Core issue hasn't been addressed.

Yes surrogacy is very very expensive .. it’s a feasible option for female family members .. elder sister or sister in law to give womb to the couple .. but they distorted it and gave it a dirty picture..

Many families all over the world request their own family members to give womb .. some chose their own mothers ( grandmother) .. Ghum needs to apologise for this mess

You know Ghum gave disclaimers in two scenes - one where Bhavani was talking about widows not wearing colourful clothes and second when kids were bullying Vinu.

Reason: Bhavani was enforcing views of age-old practices that is not socially accepted but has potential to mar views of small town people.
