The statement like don't like us don't watch does not make business sense at all.
Film stars had a mystery among them as they were not mingling in the common streets. Nobody knew their personal lives and we're only looking at them during movies where they played larger than life roles or looked super glamorous.
With social media their mystery is gone, as most of them know about their make up , gym, food and so much of their personal lives.
Bollywood is not on the top pedestal anymore. Today it is like any corporate business, you should have a great product and then market it well.
Your product is your film and to market it you require stars to be humble, approachable and likeable.
With so much accessibility over content, people will be fed up of entitled film star kids who don't have talent, still get films and then have the audacity to blame audience if the film does not do well. And not just nepo kids anybody giving out brash statements are a big turn off, case in example Tapsee and Anurag.
Kareena has the raw talent but tbh the scripts and her role choices could have been better. But nobody talked about nepotism for Kareena, they talked about her attitude towards audience that in interviews say that they themselves don't watch Hindi films and don't like us don't come.
This would have been okay 10 years ago, but people did not like that product and called her out on her attitude, but I think people are more forgiving towards her.
With Alia, after Gangubai, she could have really been more humble, but she was very forgettable in RRR plus she pissed off many fans after being passive aggressive about her role and the film. Then her attitude in kwk was so obnoxious, I mean look at Kareena and Sonam appearance where they were so chilled out.
She was again okay with some misses during darling promotions but again with Brahmastra she is screwing up. That is why they need better pr
