Ranbir Kapoor is quite possibly, one of the most unlikable Bollywood male celebrity around. His attitude and behaviour towards his past girlfriends smacks of misogyny. He is immature and needs to grow up. What he supposedly thought he said in ‘jest’ was undeniably body shaming his wife on a public platform. You just don’t comment on women’s weight full stop. Be it your wife, sister, friend or mother. No one needs your commentary. The mother of your baby certainly doesn’t. If you look into the meaning of the word he used and the way he says it, it’s absolutely awful. In Punjabi, ‘phellana’ is very harsh sounding and used to mock weight gain. Alia actually looks down at her body; she’s that conscious and impacted. So in a nutshell, don’t comment on women’s bodies.
