I can't agree more with you. We have ARJUN REDDY & KABIR SINGH. Both are monster hits. Both did big business at the box office, with the audience loving Toxic Men at Best.

Does the audience really like Ranbir? People have been seeing right through him as an actor(from BV) as well as a person. He's not a fav among the masses anymore but definitely a fav in the industry.

Audiences didn't/don't "love" Rishi and Ranbir. Rishi never lived up to the hype of Bobby despite being a phenomenal actor. As for Ranbir, media, trade analysts, his PR, etc., pushed him as the successor to the Khans/HR. It quite never happened.

Now that leaves us with Dharamji, Sanjay, and Salman. The three were handsome hunks of their times. Dharamji is also a brilliant actor. Btw, whats so toxic about him?

If fans adored people for their intrinsic nature, they'd be behind humane people, not film celebrities. Johnny Depp and Amber Heard's trial pretty much revealed how trashy celebs are.

You forgot that biggest pervert Raj Kapoor and misogynists like Kishore Kumar, Dilip Kumar, Raaj Kumar and womaniser Vinod Khanna and pedophile, wife beater Rajesh Khanna, womaniser and serial divorcer, child deserter Aamir Khan, womaniser and MCP, bigot, corrupt Amitabh Bachchan etc.

Truth is society is also patriarchal and misogynist. We have had grand welcome for rapists and support rallies in favour of rapists here even in this era.

Toxicity is seen as sign of being macho or real mard.

Well behaved men are never respected here. Farooque Shaikh, Pradeep Kumar were well behaved and never had affair or controversy all life. Sanjeev Kumar even ruined his own life blindly obeying his mom but he has no sympathisers.

To be honest even women here are rather toxic. I mean Hema, Rekha, Zeenat, Meena Kumari, Waheeda Rehman, Parveen, Sridevi were all obsessed with married men. Or there are women like Jaya Bachchan who openly espouse regressive patriarchal values.

I have rarely seen good, well behaved or progressive people succeed here. Or get accepted. Desi lot still think men who support or respect women are spoiling them or are simps and less masculine and women also think non patriarchal men and women are spoilt. I mean you can see how jealous people feel of Madhuri's husband and think he is hen pecked for allowing her to work in India after marriage and resent why she is so over exposed in media even after marriage and kids. You can see jealousy people feel for Radhika Apte's husband having no issues with her doing all sorts of roles after marriage. There are people who hate Taapsee's parents also for not controlling her or 'teaching her' how to behave.

True to the core. All this criticism of toxicity only happens in virtual online world and not into real life.

Wonder why decent men don't get girlfriends? Even marriage demands men to be macho and toxic to protect their families. Same is the case outside India.

Also why ladies loved Kabir Singh?! The answer lies there even women want men like him. It's better to be Kabir Singh than being a timid person.

Basically, if you want men to stand up for themselves and build families, masochism comes alongwith it and toxic behaviour too if not controlled.

I have seen the opposite be true. Unless they come from privilege and are born with a silver spoon in their mouth. Most toxic/creepy men are single, lonely, and the most desperate for obvious reasons.

Macho+Toxic and creepy, both are completely different according to me. Yes creepy ones could be lonely.

I was taking the whole picture into view not only girlfriends. Consequently later into a matured relationship these elements which the women get attracted to and give the highest priority get unsatisfied and resent in the long run, initially it all looks great. So the point of inspiration is to be macho and toxic to become a capable partner then tone it down to maintain a balance. This will keep both the genders happy and stable!
