But on a more serious note, I think Basit had thought he will give them both more time to settle into this relationship before taking things further. Also the way he is, it would have felt to him initially that it will be very difficult for him to trust a woman in that way. He was popping pills on the night of the nikah before finding the courage in him to even go and talk to Ayesha. Over the last three episodes, I feel Basit is slowly losing his shyness around Ayesha.

What are your thoughts on this?

I am very hopeful about this show. I think we will get some kind of clear indication when the shifts in their relationship take place. I have seen very few shows that take so much care with regards to how two people are perceiving each other. This drama has made place on the screen for an expression of the interiority of a character simply through the acting--the facial gestures, body language, etc.

When the uptight brother-in-law posed for selfies after seeing off the young man that had the audacity to come to take his saali away from him...😳

I think you’re absolutely right. Very well observed. The balm scene and the immediate aftermath brought in a certain form of softness in Basit. I think Ayesha looked exceptionally pretty with her her open and there was a sense of vulnerability about her. Regardless, I don’t think Basit would have initiated anything. If she would not have rushed to change, he probably would have held her hand or talked to her softly, but no consummation at this point. I don’t think Ayesha would have been ready either.

As for the night of Fahad’s dinner, I did think he felt ignored and disappointed that she was leaving the room. Do you think she slept in a separate room?

I don’t know why but I’ve observed that Basit is softer with Ayesha at night (balm scene, laptop scene, bedroom sharing scene, car scene) as opposed to during the day. Is there a sudden realisation in him during the day that he needs to maintain some distance from her?

I think they will take some time to get intimate.

Also both Basit and Ayesha have a different vibe during the promo showing Basit’s birthday. They both look so happy and comfortable. Do you guys think that we will witness this next week? If yes, what do you think would bring about such a change in their dynamic? Because as of now their relationship is strained from Ayesha’s side, she’s hurt and frustrated. Do you think Basit would apologise again and maybe make some special gesture for her to forgive him?

Wow! About the day/night difference now that you mention it, that is so true!! In fact even at night, in th first scene of ep 13 part 1, as soon as he switched off the light, his gaze towards Ayesha took on another layer of intensity!

I feel this might be because at night they are actually wholly in each other's presence, with no one else, no rush to go to the office, etc. At day, there are many things that can distract Basit. But we saw at least one scene in the office when even amidst work, he is thinking about Ayesha.

As for Ayesha going out of the room...The thing is with such a big house, they can easily spend their entire lives in separate rooms...

During the balm scene, I felt like Ayesha ran away. Yes, you are absolutely right about the fact that at this point neither of them are quite there yet...in terms of desire for physical intimacy.

I really hope they will take time to get intimate ...because in that lies the fun! For us at least...🤪we shall be treated to angst galore.

One thing that the next episode will show us I think is Basit making more effort in this relationship. He has to show Ayesha that he is serious about this marriage so perhaps his behaviour towards her will change. He might grow softer, nicer, and this will make things a bit smoother between the two of them. Though I think the promo sort of hints that the surprise party was actually Sadia's idea. But Basit will be happy through the party thinking Ayesha planned it. Later when he learns of Sadia's role, he will have another outburst. Aaaaagh...how will all this happen in 40 mins???

I wish there were double episodes next week too
